Getting Shushed in Marlins Park

Why go to the game and listen on the radio at the same time?

I think it's dumb but I'm pretty sure the explanation is someone who really enjoys the broadcasters as part of their experience.

Broadcasters can definitely improve a game especially a dull one.

This is annoying. If you're not taking anyone's seats this is a dumb thing to enforce.

Wasn't even like we moved into some premium seats either. We were pretty far away from home plate and on second level and game was half way done. But yep. Dude practically sprinted down to tell us we needed to move back.

This one makes sense though, you can't really enforce this but I can see someone saying it the same way a parent tells a kid "be careful" when they're playing outside.

I wouldn't be mad at an employee telling me that.

I was like 15 and was only rushing to get back in line for concessions cause I had to go get moneys from the parentals. Lol

You know how the steps between the sections have a railing down the middle that separates the one aisle into two sides? I was going to what were my usual seats at the time so I knew exactly where I was going, and I showed the guy my tickets and I started to head down the apparently "wrong" side of the railing and the guy stopped me, told me I was going the wrong way, and demanded I go on the other side of the railing. It was so stupid but I explained that I was going the right way because I knew where my seats were and he told me again that I was wrong. When I realized what he was telling me I was so aggravated by his ignorance, or better said floored by his stupidity. It was a dumb thing to get upset over so I dropped it but those are the little things that can ruin an experience for a customer.

Yeah most people don’t understand that “right side is down left is up” (or vice versa) until they run into someone lol.

but for an usher to call that out?  Like who cares dude?

I remember going to a game one time at Pro Player Stadium and an old man asking a bunch of people to be quiet because he wanted to listen to the game on the radio.

That was my weirdest moment with a fan at a Marlins game.

I’ve actually never understood that in general. Why go to the game and listen on the radio at the same time?

I can understand listening, as they’ll often provide stats and stuff that aren’t shown in the game, but telling others there to be quiet so you can hear it?  Stupid.

I once had an usher tell me to not jog up the stairs for safety reasons. Lol

Also at Joe Robbie.

I haven't been to loanDepot Park since 2019 and don't plan to go any time soon.

Wow, come to think of it, I haven’t been since then either, as it was pre-covid.

Agreed.  It’s one thing if you had upper deck tickets and we’re trying to get down to field level or behind home plate or something.  But moving up a couple rows when there’s clearly nobody there/ever coming is too much.

Ill wait a few innings and then when it’s clear nobody’s sitting there, then I’ll move.

I know but just telling you to be careful is fine, it's with good intentions, if they had stopped you and busted you that would have been dumb.

Oh yea this of course but there was no one in the aisle that I was stopping. The railings have gaps and people dart left and right through those all the time, it's just a weird thing to enforce a stay in your lane mentality for that.

i just wish maybe they would give all the ushers a beer before the game and ask them all to just have a good time and take it easy. everyone would be happier

Yeah, that's just stupid.

I've only ever seen Bartman do that lol.

I like the quiet of a baseball game. It's relaxing to me. Games are usually played in sets of 3 so you can listen to stats the other two games. I get some people like this but I'll never understand why you'd give up being fully at the game to listen to some dudes with a delay

I am now grateful for your entertaining stories and also equally indignant. Many thanks.

Some people just aren't happy, and want to enforce what little power they have on others.

Don't give the mods any more ideas.

You can get thrown out if you heckle players and also also if you use cuss words. The Marlins have a video of what not to do. Where signs are concerned you cant block someone from viewing the game from their seat by using a sign. You would not believe the amount of fans that just stand in the isles and are oblivious to fans shouting at them to sit down!
