Kim isnt going to admit failure on Soler so she cant guarantee Yuli gets everyday ABs still having Cooer.. so shes of course going to trot out Cooper at 1B full time and put Soler at DH full time. Like clockwork Cooper gets hurt and now arraez moves to first and jazz back to second and the same OF shit storm rolls on. This season will be so predictable if they stand pat

Soler while healthy will be OK. Garcia ... we just really have to hope his weight loss over the last few months will play out well and improve his numbers for '23.

 

Also you forgot Berti who would take second base in that scenario.

Again Yuli won't come here because we wont guarantee him everyday ABs.. and he's not going to come here to be a backup.. he'll just go back to houston if that's the case. The Garcia and Soler contracts continue to piss me off and will continue to do so until they're gone. They completely cripple an already weak budget.. Untradeable and truly unforgivable/mind-blowing decisions that continues to baffle me

Agree that they were stupid contracts at the time, but I'm at least trying to hold out hope that they revert closer to career norms.

White Sox will be in the market for a SP with Clevinger being a piece of shit. Vaughn is probably untouchable at this point but I'd at least reach out... something like one of Rogers/Cabrera/Luzardo (preferably Rogers) & Cooper for Vaughn. Be nice to have Salas to throw in that trade because I'd do that in a heartbeat too

Luzardo is probably untouchable right now, which, fair.

With Abreu being gone, you'd have to think he's pretty close.. but if they're that desperate for pitchers, I'd still trade Luzardo + Cooper + prospect for him. They're pretty desperate (and close) to winning that division and this trade gives them a legit SP plus a respectableish immediate replacement. I'd obviously prefer to give them Rogers, but don't think he has much value at this point. I don't want to give up Cabrera or Luzardo, but I'd do it for Vaugh at this point. 

 

You can roll with Sandy, Cabrera/Luzardo, Cueto, Rogers, Garrett and feel pretty good about it. I know we wouldnt have that coveted pitching depth we want, but its time to turn that into cornerstone offensive players like they did with Jazz. Adding Vaughn and Arraez to this offense for the considerable future would be a very good offseason.

White Sox seem like a good trade partner. They need a 2B and a leadoff hitter... berti would be a good fit too.

This does seem like last year where they felt short of what they needed to do. They still need another star bat plus a role player/lottery ticket. AT LEAST get the role player/lottery ticket (Yuli or Profar)
