Also, the Twins acquired Michael A Taylor from the Royals for minor league relievers Evan Sisk and Steven Cruz .

I know he was often in Lou's trade permutations.

Or maybe Yuli expressed he wasn't interested anymore, who knows? Maybe, as you pointed out, Houston is working on bringing him back and that is simply where he prefers.

I can't see the MiamiHerald now but according to the Fish Stripes it seems be the issue of asking price.

They've been doing this my whole life as a Marlins fan. Do something good and then stop when there are logical moves still left to be made. So frustrating

If it's nothing about the price then maybe it's about the playing time. Would they bring back Coop after 2023 when he's a FA ? if not then maybe trade Coop now and sign Yuli to start everyday but would they gamble big for the bounce back from Yuli to make him a starter !?

See that makes more sense than the price cause Gurriel won't cost that much.

It wouldn't likely be playing time in Houston unless they're fine with keeping Alvarez in left field. They have Brantley and Tucker for the outfield corners, though, so not sure, unless they go with Tucker in CF? Alvarez probably will be the DH, and with Abreu at first base, where is the playing time for Gurriel? I really think it comes down to familiarity and wanting to be where he's known as "home" for the last few years.

Honestly, Yuli is a total wild card at this point in his career who could either be total trash like last season or revert back to his 2021 form. For the right (low) price, he’s worth a gamble. But it’s not like it’s a major difference either. Abreu would have been a much more significant first base addition, however, maybe signing him means they didn’t sign Cueto or Segura. If that’s the case then honestly maybe the team was better off spreading that talent around a little more like they have. His potential for power would be a welcomed addition, but I’d actually prefer Profar since he’s much more versatile at this point.

If that's really the case then Yuli to Minnesota a done deal because the Twins seems be the only team not checking the player's physical.
