Wendle and Jean just got bailed out there. Christ this infield is not good. Lol

Right, but I was told that a guy like a Paul DeJong wasnt really an upgrade at ss.

I believe I also said long ago that Segura at 3b was a pretty dumb idea.  But not dumber than Wendle at SS full time.

Colorado is a terribly run team and might actually make that trade.

When did they last make an in season trade of any significance off their big league roster, let alone 2 players in the same deal.

Yeah the Marlins can't afford to make stupid mistakes if they ever want to hang with Altanta.  The margin is razor thin with this offense.

Wendle is a slight upgrade but the fish have much bigger fish to fry than wendle - 3b or C

oh SS is an area they really need to address from a defensive stand point if they are going to rely on pitching to win.  To have a below average defender at SS is quite frankly stupid.

Wendle is fine defensively per metrics m8

ok?

he is far better served in a Ben Zobrist type role.

I agree with this. We have too many bench guys getting consistent starts. Some due to injury, some due to choice. Wendle and Segura are the latter.

Braves at Rays soon?? Marlins need to take all the notes possible on what the Rays do against the Braves hitters.

What if the Braves beat them too?  May as well give up?

It's reassuring that someone who doesn't know anything is telling me that I don't know anything.

If anything that is a huge overpay for the Marlins but we should be more than willing to do it considering we have a legit chance to make the playoffs.  Watson is not the centerpiece of anything other than a what could have been article, Eder is the key guy and considering our pitching depth and his advanced age and injury history is worth selling on.

Would think that maybe even the Rockies would be willing to take a flyer on a Burdick type given their propensity for all or nothing sluggers.

McMahon's trade value isn't super-high but he's miles more productive than Mean Jean and still in his prime.  Diaz actually has negative trade value given his age and contract but again is a massive upgrade over Stallings (who at this point a potted plant is an upgrade).  That would be more a short-term rental upgrade and buying time until Banfield then Ronald Hernandez is ready (and Joe Mack if he can somehow develop slowly).

There are still holes at 1B and a potential big hole at CF  as well, and SS isn't exactly superstellar but Wendle and Berti can support if we can upgrade the other pieces until the young wave gets here in a few years.

The three guys I would not throw in with a trade are Marco Vargas, Fabian Lopez, and Javier Sanoja.  Anyone else is fair game.

But yeah I'm just a fan who doesn't know anything.

Pretty much. Just don't worry about the division. Lol

What’s up guys?

Just tuning into the game. Pleasantly surprised to see the Marlins with 3 runs already!

Having my chili cheese dogs I just prepared.

Savant has him pretty bad. Low OAA and obviously has no arm strength.

I’m pro dejong I just don’t see it as big a need as 3b

Eh ... honestly? Just give me upgrades everywhere possible. Short, third, first, catcher. Get at least two of those upgraded.

and it completely ignores how Colorado does business.

its almost as idiotic as any Arenado and Goldschmidt trade proposals I've seen floated around.

you cant build trades in vacuums without considering the other party at all, how they do business, and what they would want in return.   all 3 have to be considered, which is SO RARELY done.

What evidence in the last 5 years, hell last 10 years gives any idea that THIS trade offer would ever be remotely accepted by the Rockies organization?

Joey Wendle is playing SS purely for offense even though he's not that great of a hitter either.  Amaya got shafted for sure.
