The reason is because Jon Berti is 7 for 16 in his career vs. Taijuan Walker.

DLC is 8 for 17 in his career vs Walker

Jazz Chisholm is 4 for 10 in his career vs Walker

Jesus Sanchez is 1 for 13 vs Walker.

Avi is 2 for 15 vs Walker.

 

On another note, I really hate that that’s the reason honestly, I understand that stats are important and can be used to predict higher probability of outcomes based on past performances. But I don’t like it how teams can be too over reliant on advanced stats over common baseball sense sometimes.

Ironically Yuli Gurriel is 4 for 8 vs Walker and Cooper is 2 for 11 vs Walker. And yet Cooper gets the start. So I guess they’re not 100% strict about the stats thing. I still would rather see Yuli playing instead of Cooper, but I guess Cooper HR recently so he gets the nod.

If you had any input on Marlins FO decision, Lewin Diaz would have signed a 12 year 248 million dollar contract and be starting at first base everyday. He might be hitting .196 on the season but you would keep him in there. You would also get rid of Jazz infield glove. I mean actually have it removed from the clubhouse. 😂
