Who’s that hot lady

Looks like she used her head to clear the lint trap in the dryer. Good for her. Work with what you got.

I'm sure there's been a little bit of structural damage that ownership has known about for awhile now, and he's just been pitching through it. He just threw off a mound the other day with "no issues."

I think the 0-7 start to the season was the deciding factor. In what's looking like a lost season, ownership decided that now would be the time for him to have surgery.

if they decided that 7 games in, and the 0-7 start was a factor these guys are dumber than we give them credit for.

Anyone with a brain and eyes knew this team was going to be trash before the season started.

There is a way to 'limit' innings becuase you cant have a kid go from 80 innings pitched to 150 innings pitched the next year.  Thats just irresponsible.

The idiotic way the Marlins handled Eury last year especially is probably somewhat why this happened.

Along with the aforementioned issues.

Kids have been brought up gradually with a 20% increase in innings from prior year for DECADES.  thats not anything new.

Its the other factors that have changed the equation.

1. breaking balls before kids arms are really developed hurts

2. year round baseball has hurt

3. the reliance on velocity being the mostly anything that matters mantra

4. a subset of 3 is the 100% every pitch mentality especially for starters

5. the up/down constantly

Until things change on the youth level this epidemic isnt going away though folks.

Ill also be curious to see if we see a spike in TJ's after a few years with the pitch clock in place. I still think that fuc*ed up Sandy last year. He wasn't a slow pitcher by any means before it like others but I do think it screwed his rhythm up.

Well.. it’s all in the name of “fan engagement”. Unfortunately people’s attention spans have gotten so short and the desire and need for constant stimulation has forced MLB to try to be more fast pace like Basketball and Football just to keep people tuned in and more $$$ for the owners. Unfortunately pitchers are the ones who will pay the most in the end as the standard requirement is “you need to be pumping out those 99+ mph fastballs every 10 seconds” just so the average baseball watcher doesn’t get bored and change the channel. 😂

Pitch grip is another major factor. Sandy throws a "power change" and, not entirely sure, but was Eury throwing the sweeper? Those two have been shown to put a ton of strain on the elbow.

I appreciate that some of the truly big offenders had to start throwing a pitch more often than every 90 seconds but I wish they could have policed the major offenders versus this shit. I know that wouldnt have worked unfortunately. I still think it's going to really hurt pitching health within the next couple of years for sure.

PItch clock has existed in the minors for what?  5 years now?

Just speeding up the damage to young pitchers arms so if they finally make the big leagues they will get hurt sooner than later.

😂

Just kidding. I’m not a doctor. I don’t know how that works. But it fits the narrative of this thread so I’m going with that.

Oh, well, if they're basing their research on a whole years worth of data from the 2023 season I guess we're all safe and they may as well lower the clock to 10 seconds.

Tyler Glasnow mentioned when they banned sticky stuff that he had to grip the ball so much harder and he ended up having soreness "in muscles I didn't even know I had," and he ended up having TJ shortly after.
