i dont know what it is maybe its jelousy seeing one of my favorite marlins lee in a cubs uniform or knowing he is a star made out of florida and another team has taken him from us...all i know is i love Dee Lee regardless if you all hate on him..u will miss him this year when lowell and agonz errors go way up..he was the general of the infield the leader,the man on the diamond. and i just hate losing a player like that regardless of wut he would make and now that 6.9 doesnt seem like to much when we didnt even get pudge. All i know out of all the players we lost he will be the one that is missed the most...We Still love you Dee Lee, Well at least i still do.

I loved Dlee too, and i would cheer him on all his at bats the same way i would cheer on all of the team.

 

But to say that Lowell and Sea Bass are gonna commit alot more errors is already like talking crap about YOUR team. So please dont act so pessimistic, the starting lineup this year is stronger than last year and so is the bullpen and rotation.

 

And your statement is saying alot about Choi. It's like you aren't giving him a chance at all.

I agree, our lineup would be much more formidable with lee than without, seein how things played out, in retrospect, we prob could/should have kept lee.

It's all part of the game, I'll miss lee a lot too, he is a really good player that is on the brink of being the best firstbasemen in the NL, but we are still OK without him.

i agree with both sheff#1 and citanX...yes DLee is a heck of a player..Congrats on the Gold Glove ...and i to will miss him but ive decided that am going to give this kid choi a chance before we start booing him back all the way back to the minors..i wish DLee luck except when he plays us of course and i hope Choi makes us look like theifs....

D-Lee was one of my favorite Marlins, I mean hell, I'm president of the non-existant D-Lee fan club, but I don't see the lineup diminishing as much as many think. I believe Ramon will step in and fill the power void and hit much more than the 16 home runs Pudge's bat produced, and that Choi will hit around 20 as well.

 

Look, I don't think it's fair to start with the pessimism of Choi without even seeing him strike or field a ball.

ive always been a huuuuge DLee fan, i mean how can you not. But, his numbers never were what we predicted them to be, and we werent gonna be able to sign him longterm, so might as well trade him now and get an exellent BIG CHOI in return.... Choi will put up as close numbers as Lee last year.

Yeah, I've said it before, but of all the Marlins we lost, Lee will be missed the most. Nothing against Choi. I'm glad we have him and am sure he will do well.....

This topic sounds like a personal problem to me...

General of the infield? Apparently you don't know your baseball because the short stop is the general of the infield. DLee's defense will be missed, sure, but his anti-clutch skills will not be. I am more than willing to start the Choi era already, I think he will do more than fine here.

I like Lee, and I hope this trade goes well for all involved (minus the other 24 Cubs.) Lee could do so much more in Wrigley than he ever could in PPS, and the Marlins have assembled a contender and locked up its two all-stars, and future gold glove shortstop from the money that would ahve gone to Lee.

Don't get fooled by Lee's monster stats in 2004. Remember how many times he struck out and did nothing? Great guy, one of my favorite Marlins, but to get rid of 7 million and get a prospect had to be done.

 

DLee will be a star in Chi-Town but it wasn't going to happen here.

I'll defintely miss Lee's gold glove defense but his bat I wont miss much. 7 million for 31 homeruns and 91 rbis after being up by 10 runs doesnt really do it for me.

Choi seems like the Korean DLee with the Bat.

We also picked up a reliever name Mike Nannini in this trade who posted a 3.62 era last season in AA and avg more than 1 k a game and a great BB/K. 47/158 in 154 innings. I think he will be a pretty good pick up.

As much as D Lee did, it's time to let it go. He was traded and frankly he isn't worth 6.9 mil. What people will miss most about D is his defense. Offensively he ks too much and he is a notoriously slow starter. I'm not convinced he belts 40 in Wrigley. I wish him well, but his offense is spotty. He wasn't very good in clutch situations or with runners in scoring position. Sure he had a few key hits in the playoffs, but not many. Offensively, Pudge is a greater loss. Fact is Marlins desperately need some lefty power. First base is a position to plug in a lefty bat. Choi promises to be a better hitter, especially at Pro Player. Defensively, D is the best. But that doesn't mean Lowell and Alex will see their defensive stats slide drastically. Good luck to D. Better luck to Hee Seop.

Remember Choi started off somewhat well before he had that nasty collision with Wood(?) Hes one of the most highly touted power prospects of the last few years and if he pans out gives us some nice trade bait in Stokes who I believe will turn around his game.
