Took it like a man.... Next year he'll be back and do much better.... Glad to see he's not gonna let it bother him the rest of the season,we got a division to win...

IMO Sergio Mitre is ahelluva pitcher and i'm not happy about this... Were sending way to much buisness DR.Andrews way and its because alot of these guys have been rushed to the bigs and then rushed back after surgery... I really hope the Marlins take really good care of J.J. and Anibal or else they wont be around to long...

I help get Local high school baseball players that get passed over or dont really get looked at because there not good enough to get into a school like U.M. get into other schools. Nice story in there also about a kid i found that wasnt gonna get into a school, but got him into school in Tennessee Temple. Also In the story in a kid Named Alex Castillano who i also helped get into school at Belmont Abbey in North Carolina got Drafted this year in the 10th round by the Cardinals. Found the Article.. Williams Mizrahi had a lot going for him. Heading into his senior year at Miami Springs High School, Mizrahi was a star on the school's baseball team and one of the better players in the county. After moving from shortstop to the mound, he found out he was a pretty good pitcher. Then came a change that almost derailed his career: Mizrahi's longtime coach and mentor, Phil Wisser, left Miami Springs for Coral Gables High School. ''Coach would still help me. He always answered my calls, talked to me, gave me advice,'' Mizrahi said. ``But the change . . . It wasn't good.'' Despite batting .350 and maintaining a sub-2.00 ERA his senior year, Mizrahi had not been actively recruited by any colleges. That is, until he was introduced to Team USA College Recruiting and its president, Elsa Cabrera. While trying to find a college where her son could play in 2005, Cabrera decided she would become a more active participant in the hunt. What she found was an entire cottage industry built around the complicated world of college recruiting, a world she needed help deciphering. SATs, GPAs and ACTs mixed with RBI and ERAs to make it more difficult. A Little League coach put Cabrera in contact with Team USA, a Miami-based business that specializes in finding colleges for players not quite ready for major college ball, but definitely good enough to play somewhere. The group's motto: There is a college for every athlete. ROLL CALL In 1985, Team USA Recruiting held its first showcase event. Since then, it has helped hundreds of athletes find college programs that need them. Players who have benefited from the service include Coral Park's Alex Castellanos, who was drafted in June by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 10th round and Kelly Saco, a former All-County Miami Palmetto pitcher who now plays for Syracuse. For kids such as Mizrahi -- who don't quite have Saco's arm -- there are more than 850 Division I, Division II and junior college baseball teams around the country, each with roster spaces to fill. South Florida is rich in baseball talent, but meager travel budgets of small colleges prevent them from recruiting extensively in the area. Team USA uses its location and relationships with these schools to place players in the right situations. The program also offers tutoring, mentoring, SAT prep classes and assistance with admissions deadlines and paperwork. ''Those schools need players, and we have them here [in Miami],'' said Team USA director Ralph Nicolas, a Florida Christian grad and former minor-league player. 'Most times the kids don't know how to get in touch with them, or how to work the recruiting process. Sometimes, the kids' parents don't even know they're good enough to play.'' The recruiting process can be overwhelming for parents, especially those who waited too long to get a jump on it. ''What you find is that they're [colleges] running a big business, and it can make you feel like a mouse in a maze,'' said Bill Thiele, whose son, Steven, played baseball at Coral Reef High. But the hard-throwing right hander, who also plays the infield, was one of those athletes who got a late start. ''We saw him play, and we knew there was a spot for him somewhere right away,'' Team USA scout Caesar Rondo said. Last month, Thiele signed to play at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. Rondo explained that with budget cuts at local public schools and private schools recruiting top-tier players, many kids are left without the one-on-one instruction and mentoring they need. DREAMS EXTENDED 'We've got hitting coaches, guys that will work on the kids' swings, and if they show up, and the parents can't pay, then guess what? Don't worry about it. We don't care, because we love what we do,'' Nicolas, the program's director, said. Meanwhile, it looks like Williams Mizrahi's dream to play college baseball will take him to Tennessee Temple in Chattanooga. Crusaders coach Gus Hernandez, a Miami Westwood Christian graduate, said Mizrahi will be one of a dozen South Floridians on his roster. ''I've got [Mizrahi] and four other kids from [Miami],'' Hernandez said. ``This is my best recruiting class yet.''

I'll be at 5 year on Dec.15. Man has it been that long... I've loved every minute...

I were Rogers i'd tell the press....Why would he wanna come back to ride the bench,Cause it's my time old timer... And then Fav-re would come back just to spite him, forcing him onto the bench for another year. And thats when he demands a trade and Farve plays 1 more year and then they no longer have Rogers waiting in the wings.. Not gonna happen.... Rogers in starting next season...

Congrats to the Boston Celtics World Champions 2008.

i tore my labrum in h.s rehabed it for a year and was able to throw without pain but the velocity never came back. i tore it again in college, did the surgery and the rehab and had to call it quits cause the pain never went away,i've had a bunch of friends go through the same thing, when u tare your labrum they have to open your shoulder capsole to be a ble to repair and once u open it it is never the same.it is easier to come back from tommy john than it is from labrum surgey.i remember there was a pitcher from the white sox a few years back that had the surgery at the same time i was and he was having a pretty decent career till he tore his labrum and he was never the same again after it. The white sox released him and i think the rays picked him up and let him go the same year. Best of Luck to Anibal ....

DAVIE, Fla. (AP)?For months, Alonzo Mourning insisted that this season would be his last in the NBA. Unless, of course, it isn?t. Mourning, whose season ended when he suffered severe knee and leg injuries in a game last December, said Monday that if his body gets healthy, he?d like to come back and play one more season before finally calling it a career. ?I want to come back and play another year,? Mourning said, while appearing at Miami Dolphins defensive end Jason Taylor?s charity golf event. ?I just want to get my body right to do it. I need to get my body where my mind is.? Mourning has said several times previously that a return wasn?t out of the question?but Monday?s comments may have been his strongest yet. It?s not entirely up to Mourning; his contract with the Heat ends June 30, and he almost certainly wouldn?t want to play for any other team. ?I still, in my mind, feel I can contribute,? Mourning said. The 38-year-old Mourning averaged 6.0 points and 3.7 rebounds in 25 games this season for the Heat.

I really want to play in an adult softball or baseball league in Miami. Does anyone know of any? I've been searching all over and the only one I can find is in Cutler Ridge, way too far from my Aventura home. Any help?! I've been playing in a great league for the last 6 years called south florida baseball league. www.sfbl.com They have a premier league for guys in shape and play on a regular basis, and they have a neutral level for guys that just go out there to have fun and get in shape. Either one is great and lots of fun.. softball you can always play at tropical park or hammocks park.... I heard its real cute...

I once dreamed that I was peeing and when I woke up I was covered in piss. LoL...

The Chicago Cubs were on the verge Wednesday of signing free agent outfielder Jim Edmonds, who was released last week by the San Diego Padres. Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said before Wednesday night?s game that Edmonds was on his way to Chicago and must pass a physical before he can join the team. An eight-time Gold Glove winner and four-time All-Star, the 37-year-old Edmonds strained his right calf in a spring training game on March 6 and started the season on the disabled list before being activated on April 5. A career .286 hitter, he was batting just .178 in 26 games with one homer and six RBIs. Edmonds has also played with the Angels and Cardinals. He had an $8 million salary this year, which is being mostly paid by San Diego. The Padres received $2 million from the St. Louis Cardinals when they acquired Edmonds on Dec. 15 for minor league third baseman David Freese.

SAN DIEGO (AP)?Center fielder Jim Edmonds has been released by the San Diego Padres after his batting average dipped to .178 and he struggled to track down fly balls he once easily caught. The 37-year-old Edmonds, acquired in a December trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, strained his right calf in early March and started the season on the disabled list. Activated on April 5, he went 16-for-90 with just one home and six RBIs.
