2008 Presidential Candidates
If I was Republican, I'd give McCain the GOP nod...but I'm not, so it's pointless.

An off-season favorite: Post Your Desktop!
OOH! I haven't been to the Civic Center yet, how are the games? Great. Sign up and go down and stand in the Nole Zone. This year they've instituted a mandatory number of points to stand in the Nole Zone for the Duke and NC games. Basically, you couldn't have missed one game in the fall (and a couple games over winter break) in order to see Duke.

Limited Fake PTI with Fake LeBatard
Kinda random question---- Is Stu Gotz his co-hosts' real name? My latin teacher called a kid in my class a "stugotz"...which I inferred to mean "idiot"...and I really doubt she listens to 790. This has been bothering me for awhile.. His name is Jon Weiner I think.

Top 5 sports stories of 07
Not particularly top 5 material, but Notre Dame's freefall... Celtics' big three I mean, the top 5 are already in circulation, nothing will break them. Notre Dame was expected to suck this year. Anyway, top 5 stories: 1. Mitchell Report 2. Vick 3. Patriots potential perfect season + Spygate 4. Gator Slam 5. Sean Taylor That's why they were ranked in the preseason top 10. lulz

What is your faith?
Let me start by saying that I'm culturally Jewish, but it has no meaning to me religiously or spiritually. I am very aware of my "Jewishness" as a heritage. I don't believe in god, I find the beliefs and precepts rather meaningless, and I take little comfort in being part of the community. Nonetheless, I still consider myself Jewish. It's not wholly rational, and I guess it's more of a gut feeling than anything else. But there it is. So that's how I voted. what i envy about religious people is that they are more at peace with dying. sometimes before i go to sleep, i find myself thinking about how one day it'll all be over and it's a scary thought when you don't have any beliefs in an afterlife or whatnot. I don't think religious people are more at peace about dying at all. I've met religious people who are petrified of death, and atheists who are quite comfortable with it. Death is just as unknown to the religious individual as it is to the secular individual. I don't believe in the afterlife at all, and death holds very little fear to me. I agree with everything said here. And btw, I'd assume a large number of Christians fear death simply because a small part of them thinks they might go to hell, no? Atheists all think nothing negative can happen after death, ergo no fear....imo

Hotel Bookings
The best quoted price online was the same as the price we received by calling the resort. I told my father that we didn't have to go (that's expensive for just one night...plus food, indulgences, travel...) but he is intent so he's forkin over the dough.

Hotel Bookings
I know of several online resources for getting cheaper prices, but I know MB has a wealth of untapped knowledge that could benefit me. If anyone knows of good bargain websites for hotel bookings, please let me know! I'm trying to go with my father to the hotel formerly known as 'The Registry' in Naples (a last minute idea by pop) tomorrow but the cheapest we're getting is $449. He's set on going so we'll take that price, but I want to find a room at more of a discount. Thanks! Good luck with that! Golf resort hotel during the holiday season at the last minute. Good luck! As always, I can count on your ill founded sarcasm to help with the situation.

What did you get for Christmas?
I can't wait until I make a steady income and be able to give out significant gifts to friends and family. Anyway, for Chanukkah (which has been gift-giving over the course of 3 weeks now): $120 from family watch from mother $25 B&N gift card from uncle XL shirt from aunt/uncle that doesn't fit me...not even close...can't understand why they'd do that going with dad to Sawgrass tomorrow to buy him something and vice versa

Call me crazy or what?
And I am sure you will bitch about it all semester. newb

Another Disney Death
This is like the 4th or 5th death at Disney in less than a month. Not so magical. less than a month?

Cloverfield
Well the trailer has started to surface on TV, and I sense the coming mind-numbing influx of advertising leading up to its release. Unfortunate because I think the less you know or see it, the more appealing it would have been. If it truly is unformulaic, I think it's going to lose out by promoting the movie too heavily.

Willis agrees to 3 year deal
I'm glad you like being a misinformed fan then. :thumbup Really, it makes watching the games unbearable at times.
-
Willis agrees to 3 year deal
You said for him to justify his contract he would have to win a certain amount of games. That is a pointless and useless benchmark. Oh, well not for me. Now tell me I'm wrong and that it's a silly basis for success, and then we can be done.
-
Willis agrees to 3 year deal
Wins are a useless 'stat' unless you are talking about win shares and I don't think anyone was. I was talking about wins because I was responding to a post made about said wins.
-
Willis agrees to 3 year deal
Good Deal. I bet Willis win 40+ games over the next 3 years. If he doesn't win at least 15 games a year for the next 3, then he's officially a bust. I think to own up to the contract, he'd have to win 50+ in the next 3 years.

a e-mail from marlins about tonight big news
Javier, We are very happy. The next step is critical and is related to all three parties signing off on BSA. It is still too early to talk about groundbreaking but the approval of interlocal by City and County is a major step forward. Claude Your name is Claude? ... Gotta think before you type, my man.
