Fifth Starter
Am I the only one who thinks Brian Sanches has earned a start? This guy has pitched his ass off all season long and has looked good doing it. I realize he may not be stretched out right away but he can still pitch 4 or 5 innings until his stamina increases. He reminds me of Chuck Smith in 2000, a career minor league journeyman who is given one last chance to make an impact on a big league club and seizes it. We should run with this guy.

Olney: Marlins pushing for Heath Bell
We need a closer less than the vowels need Y. This is the best bullpen we've ever had so to trade for a closer would be asinine. What we need is an impact hitter. We can't count on our pitchers jacking 3 run homers every night. I'm confident that my boy Beinfest has something up his sleeve. He's about to remind us all why he is God.

July 31st Trade Deadline
I think the Marlins need to be both buyers AND sellers. We need a big bat more than anything and a starting pitcher as well. But in order to compensate for the added payroll we will also need to trade Uggla and Hermida (probably to a contending team like the Giants) in a separate deal for prospects. Then we can call up Maybin and move Coghlan or Bonifacio to second. Lee and Martinez would be perfect. They both have great contracts for the quality of players that they are and are signed through next season (club options) so they won't be just 2 month rentals. Lee makes 1.92 million for the rest of this season with a 9 million club option (1 mil buyout) for next season. V-Mart's salary increases if he gets traded but will still only make 2.01 million for the rest of this season and 7.5 next season (with .25 mil buyout). So the payroll for this season will not increase much at all, but it will make us an instant and serious contender in my opinion. A trade like this would definitely cost us some of our best prospects, but keep in mind that we will get prospects back in the Uggla/Hermida deals and will also be able to trade Lee/V-Mart if necessary during the offseason or at next year's trade deadline to restock our farm system. This is our year, the 6th year, and we are ony 3.5 games out. We need to go balls out for a f***in championship.

Baker Sucks
You guys bash Bonifacio and Hermida all day long and rightfully so, but Baker is also terrible and nobody says anything bad about him. The dude can't throw, can't block pitches, and can't hit for sh*t. How many times is he going to take strike 3 right down the middle of the f***in plate? I'm tired of seeing this bitch in our lineup when we have a better catcher sitting on our bench. Paulino was a great acquisition. He's a baller and needs to be the everyday catcher (5 games a week). f*** that lefty/righty sh*t. He hit .300 in 327 at bats in 2006 against righties. He proved in Pittsburgh that he can put up very nice numbers when playing everyday. Baker has proven that he has no f***in clue at the plate.

June 18 - Marlins @ Red Sox
I just checked the radar. I'm not a meteorologist, but it looks like the rain will be lightening up at around 11:30. Then it will pick back up again at around 12:30. So hopefully that one hour window isn't dry enough or long enough for them to restart/finish the game. Here's hoping for a cheap rain shortened victory.

Fredi watch
I agree Cody and Uggla have underperformed but their numbers are not atrocious like those of Boni, Maybin and Coghlan. So Cody and Uggla deserve a little of the blame but the overwhelming majority of the blame belongs to the guy (Beinfest) responsible for putting Boni, Maybin and Coghlan in the lineup. You crossed the line, bitch. Nobody and I mean nobody has the right to bash Beinfest. The guy is a f***ing genius beyond comprehension. Beinfest is God and he will reign down on you for saying such assholish things. The Marlins are a damn good team that just happens to be going through a rough patch. Everybody on this board overreacts like a bunch of drama queers. Today marks the first game of the rest of our season and last I checked it's May and we're still in this damn division. Let's get behind this team and stop with all this misplaced criticism and bulls*** negativity.

Luis Gonzalez may not return to Fish
Good. I know he's had a nice career and everything, but he needs to hang it up. He started the season okay but got exponentially worse as the season went on. Nothing but weak pop-ups and grounders without an ounce of clutch. And there's something that isn't right about a grown man that throws like a chick. I'm not trying to bash him, he is a very classy guy and I wish him the best. But he needs to be a coach/commentator and not a player anymore.

Peter Gammons called the Marlins the favorites in '09
We need to keep Uggla, Ross, Amezega, Nolasco and Johnson. Willingham, Hermida, and Jacobs are the guys that need to go in order to keep the payroll down. I'm not sure if McPherson is under contract for another year, but I would like to see him take Jacobs spot at 1B (or Cantu can move to first and McPherson play third). All I know is that it's going to be a very interesting offseason. In Beinfest I trust. Go Fish!!

Post Game Thoughts 3/31 Opening Day
Just got home from the game. Yeah, it sucks to lose on opening day, but that whole game would have changed if Jacobs could have doubled off Church at first base on that line drive in the 4th inning. Everything unraveled after that. Now we move on to tomorrow. Honoring conine before the game was awesome. I cried when they showed all of Conine's highlights throughout his career as a Marlin. As far as the Mets fans, they were obnoxious as hell where I was. There was this ogre looking couple (they seriously looked like ogres, it was unreal) that was beyond ridiculous sitting in front of me. They would keep standing up and saying sh*t every 3 seconds for no reason. I overheard them say that they were from Long Island. So I said to them, "Are you sure you're not from Wrong Island?, I can't tell which one of you is Shrek and which one is Dunkey." They were pissed as hell. They stood up like they were gonna do something, but they just kept talking sh*t and ended up leaving to get food. When they came back they started eating their nachos and hotdogs. So this time I said, "Has anybody from New York learned the Heimlich Manuever yet? Whose going to keep the mets from choking like dogs?" So Shrek got irrate and decided to take a swing at me. I punked him once in the jaw before security came and took us away. Just another day at the ballpark I guess. Crazy Fish

Let's get it on!!!
I'm hella pumped for this game today and this season. All you naysayers and pessimists can go to hell. I checked the standings today and we are tied for first place so let's get this sh*t on. I'm so full of emotion and come 4:00 I'm gonna start explodin. There's a storm coming through so the league better be ready. Santana is about to get lit up like a Christmas tree. The punk Mets fans will have nothing to cheer about so they will have ro resort to crying and picking fights in the stands. Listen here Mets fans, if you want to fight someone, come fight me bitches. I'm jacked up and I'll pop you like a firecracker. This is the year of the Fish, I feel it in my blood. I have the same feeling I had back in 2003 when everybody thought I was crazy. Well damn right I was crazy, crazy like a fox. Ladies and gentlemen, it's ass kicking time. Go Fish. Crazy Fish

BK released from Bucs
Hell yeah, bring him back. He was my favorite Marlin last season. I love when he gets a comebacker to the mound and then rifles it to first base from like 20 feet away. Jacobs would almost get his head taken off. And the balks on every pitch are priceless. The umpires get confused because they don't want to call it everytime. And there's nothing better than watching somebody strikeout on one of Kim's nasty frisbee sliders. It's either a stikeout or homerun so I get pumped up when its a strikeout. This guy throws at least 40 pitches every inning but he's entertaining as hell and I would be thrilled if we got him back assuming he's cheap and healthy enough.

Photo's from the Manatee tryouts
So they all made the team? Dang, if I would've known that I would have taken my 150 pound frame out to the tryout. Looking like a jackass for a half inning is well worth the free admission. And if they said I wasn't fat enough then I could have played the weight card. After all it's the 21st century, there's no room for weightism in this country.
