You guys keep talking about Beckett and Pavano being the ACE when you know the true ACE is A.J. he will be the ace coming into next year. he is the one with the best stuff, look at what he is doing now coming off tommy john surgery what other pitcher has come back that quickly and done as good as he has done. everyone takes about 2 years or 1.5 to get their stuff back.......wait till next year how nasty A.J will be. When is this guy coming back. Does anyone know what date is he coming back, i think we need him because Easliy is the only guy from the bench that has some Pop. when ever Cordero comes back it gives us another pinch hitter that can hit a HR. I hope he comes back soon

i saw A.J last year coming late to the game. He was driving a jeep with no windows and big tires it almost looks like he goes mudding in it. the Jeep was very dirty full of mud.

All 5 of them have done a great job. they have gone 34.2 innings and have allowed 6 runs in the last 5 games. thats why i believe that we can make it to the playoffs and why we would be a very dangerous team and teams would be scared to play us in the playoffs. atleast it shows that we battled and could've won against the best team. we are playing to the caliber of our opponents. It also shows that we can play against the best and that we are good enough and we make it to the playoffs a lot of teams will be scared becuase of our pitchers. Damn Beckett steped up to the Challenge just like he did last year in the Playoffs.It seems to me that he has to be challenged in order for him to perform at his best. he needs to pitch like that and with consistency and maybe he should just challenge himself to do better everygame and maybe he will begin to take it to the next level and become if not the best one of the best pitchers.

once again i have to tell you this. yes i know they won 5 of 6 against the Padres and The dodgers. the sweep against the Padres does not mean much because the Padres are in a Losing streak, they just lost 2 of 3 to the Pirates at home 3-7 in last 10 and then when you talk about the Dodgers the Phillies got lucky when they scored 4 runs against Gagne (now when does that happen Never!!!) Gagne never allows that and the other gam they won was with Penny getting hurt in the first inning. i dont care how good the other guy from the dodgers did(he is not Penny) and who is going to play LF now Utley???

who would they rather take from the Phillies besides Thome and Abreu....i would take Burrell, yeah Utley has done a good job but let see how he does with more at bats and you'll see his .283 avg. go down. basically what you are saying is that the Phillies are better of without Burrell, ok will see about that when they start dropping off in the standings.

ok "my young friend" they were looking for a CF before they traded Ricky Ledee, they been looking for a CF since they sent down Byrd and now he is back and Michaels is still not starting that tells you about him. As far as Burrell yes he has a low avg. but he is still 3rd in HR and 3rd in RBI's 18 and 68 and the next guy in rbi's is utley and leiberthal with a 40 (oh yeah thats a lot). think about it i dont care if you might not like Burrell but he scares team more than any other Philly besides Abreu and Thome. name me another Philly hitter that will scare anyone or can protect Thome and Abreu....there is no one.

well since you know everything about the Phillies, saying that all these players are coming back soon....when are those dates.till i see them on the field those guys are in trouble with all those injuries. Plus that bull pen that you mentioned does not scare anyone without wagner. also the marlins have been playing bad against team under .500 but they can still beat the Phillies and they dont face to many under .500 teams anymore. and for the Phillies record at home (we are talking about the Phillies) you better win your home games if you want to make it to the playoffs. and to say Burrell is not a big loss...he is there 3rd best hitter and Jason Mchaels has not proven anything and he does notcompare to Burrell and is Michaels was as good as one of you say he is then why dont they start him at CF and why did the Phillies try hard to acquire a CF

wagner,madsen,milwood and Padilla are all on the injured list and now Pat Burrell is out for the year. the Phillies are done. we should be able to pass them very soon and then it becomes the Giants and San diego which will start to fade out and SF and SD play each other 6 more times and they each play LA 7 and 6 times. Our main focus is now the Cubs we are 5 games back and we have to get on a winning streak and be hot when we play them for those 6 games later on. The wild card is there for us!!!!!!!

i believe that we will win the wild card...i think that San Diego is going to fade out and we will continue to beat the Phillies and pass them specially with all the injuries they have.Also San Fran does not have enough to get to the playoffs all they have is Bonds and Schmidt thats it, we will pass them and we play everyone. then we go to the cubs, they have a good team on paper but i think they are overated and they always choke. plus wood and prior are not completely back those guys are going to continue to struggle with injuries and Kerry Wood did not look that good against the Giants. Marlins 5.5 games back but only 5 from the loss column....5 games in 2 months i think we could make that up, specially with us playing 6 games against them and they end the season with 3 games against the Braves while we play the Philles (owned)

we are 6games out of the wild card, i think that we have a better cance at getting the wildcard then winning the division i dont see ATL losing ad we are 7 back. i know that there are 4 or 5 teams in front of us but we are closer to those teams then to ATL. Also the Cubs and Houston still have to play some more games with each other. San Diego, the Giants and LA hav more games to play against each other go LA, and we still have more games against the Phillies and we own them plus we r only 2.5 games behind them. Also we can help ourselvs out because we still play all of them except Houston. 3gms vs Padres,SF,LA and 6 against cubs and 6 or 7 vs phillies. Plus Phillies still have games against ATL

I think that Cabera will plat 1B next year and if Conine is still here he will play LF and stokes will be trade bait. Cabrera was a lot better last year at LF but this year he is a lot bigger and slower....look at his legs they are way bigger and fatter then last year, thats why he is slower. i just hope that he is flexible to play first???

Does anyone else think besides me that Cabrera could've atleast dove on that blooper against Manzy towards the end of the game. atleast dive, try do something. also JP should have dived for the ball that landed in front of him when the dbacks took a 2-0 lead. im sure that andruw jones and tori hunter and jim edmonds would make the play and even if they dont they would atleast dive and make the attempt. i dont think they are trying hard enough and that is the problem. since they won last year, they dont have the focus,fire or desire to repeat. they are just dogging it and they r playing down to their opponents. hopefully someone steps up and makes them realize it and they begin to play hard and have fun. I wish we could play 1st place teams only maybe we can beat all of them. Hopefully by the time we play the Brewers they are not in last place. who is in last Pitt. or Brewers.

i understand that he has no fath in koch w/ runners on ok, i understand mota was closing ( but he des no need to see mota pitch because everyone knows what he has and im sure has seen Mota pitch before against us. Also i understand he likes to throw guys in the fire like Gacy (but Gracy was in the beginning of the season there is not room for error right now. But what about Manzy and Bump???

Why did Jack put in the new guy w/o ever seeing him pitch before. why did he put him in a close game when we had Mota,Manzy,Koch and even bump nicely rested. Another question why did he leave Dontrelle in the 8th and taking him out after the first guy got the hit.....why not let him get out of it, his pitch count was not that high and if he was going to take out Dontrelle why not do it in the top of the 8th and pinch hit for him knowing that the 2 best hitters for the D-back were coming up and they are both right handers(Bautista and Hillenbrand). I dont understand it we had never seen this guy pitch before, atleast we know that Mota is good and manzy most of the times has his stuff and even bump has been pitching better latley and he is a ground ball pitcher maybe he could've induced the DP. i have more confidence in them then the new guy. Just a question to see what everyone thought, would you put the new guy that we have not seen in a tied game in the 8th or go with the guys you know and that are rested. I know most of you are going to say that this is second guessing but honestly when that guy came in was saying why isn't Manzy or Mota in.

this cape guy is an idiot, how can you say valdez is better then Penny just because he has more wins........ look at their ERA 5.54 to 3.18......cant u understand that the padres scored more runs like 8 when valdez was pitching and they won lets say 8-5 so he gets the win.....and the marlins scored 2 and penny allows 3 and they lose 3-2 how is that pennys fault and how can you say he did not keep them in the game obviously he did they only scored 3 while valdez got luck that the padres scored 8.......Damn this guy is an idiot and then you say that Milton is good cause he has 11 wins and he has kept his team in it look at his era 4.64 that only mean that Philly scored more than 5 or 6 runs and they won as a result .......the wins just tell you that Valdez and Milton have better OFFENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
