The Fountain
I think production was scrapped entirely on this for a few years because it ran overbudget. It was resurrected with smaller production costs and without Brad Pitt. It sounds like they modified the screenplay to make it more economical. It's taken him 5+ years to release a film. That's a long time for relatively young Director.

The Prestige
Does anyone recommend the film, Memento? Don't know what it's about but I'd love to see Nolan's pre-Batman work. It's his best film and I think few would argue that. I loved it, it's a great piece of work. It's extremely thought provoking and interesting. Alot of layers to it. Guy Pearce was phenominal. Memento has to rank up there as one of the most disrespected movies at the Academy Awards ever with just 2 nominations but it ranks high up in my favorite movies of all time. Amazingly directed (Memento). Guy Pearce easily did his best work in it. Just incredible storyline and how they created it. Netflix'd

The Fountain
This movie was in production for a really long time, from what I've heard. It has changed actors many times in the past. I believe Brad Pitt was involved at one point. It looks interesting, although I don't have many details about it. Yeah, I don't really grasp the entire concept just yet. That's got to be the best poster of the year.

New Name!
The only thing I dont like about this board is the changing names thing That's the only thing you don't like about this board? Then I'm not doing a very good job. You should have more complaints. Here since '03 and this is your first public appearance? You must be a behind the scenes kinda guy. :whistle Yeah, weird... I think it was a Name Change.

What Kind of Books do you like?
I mainly stick to the Book-Movie theme. Currently I'm reading A Clockwork Orange (Burgess) and I read Puzo's Godfather which made me love the characters even more. I also purchased Bad Twin by Gary Troup (a Lost novel) which I will start reading soon. The Count of Monte Cristo is my favorie book by far.

The Wire
The Wire Season 4 comments by Matt Roush: To Red Devil: Yes, critics have been sent the entire season of The Wire, but with a deluge of current summer programming, the ongoing critics' press tour, a shelf full of network pilots to analyze, most everyone is being forced to have to wait until closer to the time that we'll actually be reviewing the show. I can't wait, but unfortunately, I'm going to have to. The few critics here who have dug into the series (I talked to one last night who'd made it through five episodes so far) say it's absolutely brilliant, and the focus this season on four young Baltimore boys in the school system and on the streets may make it more accessible than usual. The good news about having the entire series, as was the case with Showtime's engrossing "Brotherhood," is that I can watch it as if it were a miniseries. "The Wire" is not a show that is seen at its best in hour episodes separated by a week's time. (It's going to play very well On Demand.) Also, for those who watched Rome, you'll be sad to know that the show has been canceled. The second season is set to air January 7. After that, the series is finished.

I'm so out of it... I thought today was the after the all-stars. Glad to have it back!

Brenda Song
She's a Disney Channel star. They live in their own "peter pan" reality where the're stuck in this fantasy land that doesn't let you grow up. It's hard to look at them as hot. There are some exceptions though (Christy Carlson Romano, her role was more mature than other actresses, not to mention probably the hottest one of them all).

Nightmares & Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King
I TiVo'd it. Mostly high praises so I'll watch it sometime this weekend. For those who missed it, they will be playing it at 11 and 12 tonight.

2006 Annual Site Awards To Take Place August 17
If anything, the guy from Cambridge should win. Fans from Europe have a plus 1 in my book. No love for the dude from Alaska? He gets a + 1/2 for not living in continental U.S. :thumbup

Pee Wee's Playhouse
Funny you mentioned Elfman's score. It just seems like he repeats himself switching a few things here and there. I used to know the whole score to Edward Scissorhands (which I think is his best) and now I can't remember it after watching several different films featuring his music.

Alyssa Milano
Alyssa stopped being hot at the end of the 20th century. You all smoke crack. She is STILL a hottie, damnit! We have too many e-adonises on here. I don't know what you mean by that. The only thing that is above average about her is her breasts. There is a HUGE age barrier between me and yankeefan (I'm assuming because you said "STILL") and Milano is one of those girls that fits right in between the two generations. I don't find her attractive these days (but show me episodes of Who's the Boss in the later years and it's a whole different story). I guess this is the response you wanted instead of the "20th century" ordeal. Which btw I would like to know what you meant by "e-adonis".
