Anyone see Manny having to be held back by team mates from going after Youkilis?

That's nice, but it means nothing if we don't stockpile pitching Trust me, its a typical Beinfest day.....5 of 6 so far are pitchers. :confused Somebody really needs to tell Beinfest that there are 8 other positions on the field. :banghead Later year it was the opposite. They drafted 4 position players before taking a pitcher.

Hopefully Skip doesn't grow another inch.

Matusz to the O's!!!! Giants better pick up Smoak or G. Beckham here.

You guys are good, who do you think the orioles will take?? Brian Matusz, LHP. Yea, it's b/w Smoak and Matusz. but the fish need Smoak to drop to the Giants so Posey can drop.

O's draft Brian Matusz. they better!

Beckham looks like Hanley

Nice crowd at the draft.

*thinks* Buster *thinks* Buster Would you like to start the collection for his 12 mil? He aint getting 12 mill. He'll get less than Matt Wieters got last year.

Lets get our future catcher please.

As we close in on midnight, the draft is still, well, pretty much a mess, but there looks to be some direction finally with the Rays at number one overall. It?s not because they?ve made a decision on who is the best player, and it?s not because they?ve decided to go for ceiling (Tim Beckham) over certainty (Buster Posey). It?s because of money. On the final night of the draft, many decisions are made with checkbooks. Teams looking at multiple players begin to make calls to agents to gauge signability, and those discussions can help steer teams one way or the other. Late this evening, multiple sources have indicated as to Buster Posey?s draft-eve asking price, and it?s a doozy at $12 million. Right now, that looks like more than enough to make up the Rays mind, and they?ll likely be taking Tim Beckham unless that number reverses dramatically in the next 12 hours. The real question is to the reason for the number, as some believe it?s a posturing maneuver to drop Posey to a team with deeper pockets, though many feel that strategy would backfire, and somebody with a early pick will call the bluff. Link Looks like Posey could be around by the 6th pick. Will Mr. Loria open up the check book?

Is every pitcher, aside from Ryan Tucker, hurt in the minors. Volstad? Thompson? Vanden Hurk? anyone else? Vanden Hurk came off the dl yesterday. Goodthing his injury wasn't too serious.

He was placed on the DL on May 18th with a left shoulder strain.

true colors my friend, true colors.

I would really like to see him raise his avg against RHP. His OBP and SLG are good against them though so im not too concerned.

Im guessing Jesus Delgado. He can go multiple innings if needed. Didn't he just get beat up a couple days ago? I dont know but he was very good in Carolina before he was called up to AAA. My guess is that they would want someone who can maybe give you 3+ innings if things get out of hand. I know there are a few guys who wont be available today.

Im guessing Jesus Delgado. He can go multiple innings if needed.

it's De La Cruz PB Post has it On 3 days rest after pitching 8.2 innings in his last start? Thats not good for a young arm.

Could be Gaby Hernandez. He's suppose to pitch today in Alb today. N/M he's pitching in ALB today already.

Barone pitched a day or two ago so scratch him. I would guess Ross Wolf since he's been pitching for Jupiter since he came back from injury and it's close.

Dont know how much should be read into this but Chris Coghlan played 3b tonight meanwhile Lee Mitchell who usually plays 3b played 2nd.

FWIW, both blogs (Herald and Sun-Sentinel) are guessing Gall will be called up. And for those who want McPherson....we can't play 25 guys on the field at once. Gall makes a perfect 25th man....pinch-hitter with the occasional spot-start. McPherson needs to be playing everyday, not rotting on the bench. And those who think (or want) he'll get called up and replace Cantu are living in a fantasy world. Ain't gonna happen. Actually it makes perfect sense. Specially with the fish heading to the AL side for interleague. Perfect DH candidate.

he had like an 0 for 29 in 2006.

Dominguez was awsome in his 2nd game back. He went: 3/4 2B rbi 2r walk k
