May 24, 200818 yr god danm in his second start well at least hell get to tear up the pcl again i actually wanna see maybin get called up give him a chance to do work
May 24, 200818 yr If Maybin was performing right now, this would be an ideal situation to call him up.
May 24, 200818 yr god danm in his second start well at least hell get to tear up the pcl again i actually wanna see maybin get called up give him a chance to do work His third start, actually. And I don't think it's the right time to call Maybin up yet. Since we still have Amezaga to cover the outfield, we could still call up an infielder. I'm not sure who I would want though.

May 24, 200818 yr I think it was right after Tuesday's game. As they were walking off the field Fredi grabbed Brett and had him against the back of the dugout with his back to the field and looked like he was chewing him out a little. Brett had his head down and didn't appear to be saying anything as Fredi was continuously talking. Have no idea what that was about and can only speculate as nothing has been said in the media. May or may not have something to do with the way he played that ball Friday because I didn't think he had any kind of shot to catch it. Just throwing an observation out there.

Show me McDallas! And we can start phasing out Cantu :thumbup Yea. Real smart choice there. Dallas in the hitter friendly PCL has 148 ABs, hitting .297, with 25 BBs and 62 Ks. Hitting .317 vs RHP and a whopping .214 vs LHP. We have a bench IFer extrodinaire in The Amazing to relieve every IF position along with Wes for defensive 1B replacement and PHer. John Gall in the hitter friendly PCL has 163 ABs, hitting 324, with 14 BBs and 19 Ks. Going .341 vs RHP and .324 vs LHP. The Cantu hatred continues to blind some. Just like the Treanor hatred. And neither really deserve it.

And neither really deserve it. Yes, it is a real smart choice actually... you see... Dallas would provide a perfect platoon partner with Wes Helms at 3B... where they would provide a combined OPS of roughly .800, taking the splits into consideration... and well... .800 is a better figure than the .730 OPS of Cantu (which is in line with his previous two seasons). In terms of OFers, we currently have (in no discernable order) Alfredo Amezaga, Jacques Jones, Jeremy Hermida, Luis Gonzalez and Cody Ross... OF is set... As far as John Gall, yeah, it'd be nice to bring him up, but really, he would get no playing time, and you know that, the FO has a fascination with Rabelo that will give him regular playing time, and Treanor has long since earned his playing time. So why waste the time bringing up someone to rot on the bench and not improve the team? In terms of IF production, by far our weakest production comes from the C spot and the 3B spot... I already explained why bringing up a (3rd) catcher is pretty much pointless, so why not replace the other "hole" in the lineup. The whole reason we got Dallas in the first place was to compete for the 3B position. Dallas starts a couple games against RHP, Cantu gets the starts against LHP. Eventually, one of the two gets outplayed and sent back down. Or maybe not, because Cantu does provide some positional flexibility. By my scenario, Cantu would be sent down anyways when Willingham comes back, allowing for my aforementioned Helms/McPherson platoon. Players that can play the following positions (in my preferred depth chart): C - Treanor, Rabelo 1B - Jacobs, Helms, Cantu, McPherson, Amezaga (Wouldn't put it past him) 2B - Uggla, Amezaga, Cantu SS - Hanley, Amezaga 3B - McPherson, Helms, Cantu, Amezaga LF - Gonzalez, Ross, Jones CF - Jones, Ross, Amezaga RF - Hermida, Jones, Ross And there's your solid 13 deep bench with reasonable rotations so players get reasonable playing time and we have better matchups, until Hammer gets back. Also, surpsrisingly, the defense at 3B is improved... if only by a slight margin, but any improvement defensively over there is noteworthy... So, if you don't like my suggestion, that's fine... but to insinuate it's "stupid", or that I have "blind hatred" for Cantu... that's just ignorant... kthx
May 24, 200818 yr I would love to see what McFEARson can do. If he stinks we can send him right down.

May 24, 200818 yr Sucks for Brett. He finally gets another start and down he goes. Nah, he's gonna make an extra $200K because of this.
May 24, 200818 yr I'll pass on McPhearson for right now. He leads the PCL with a 35% K rate. Even though his SLG and ISOP are ridiculous, I'll stick with someone with a little more contact. (Cantu)
May 24, 200818 yr I was out of town, so I didn't get to watch the game. Now, I feel bad that he was injured, and I really like him, but when I saw the replay, I cracked up at how he was injured. Am I going to hell for that?
May 24, 200818 yr FWIW, both blogs (Herald and Sun-Sentinel) are guessing Gall will be called up. And for those who want McPherson....we can't play 25 guys on the field at once. Gall makes a perfect 25th man....pinch-hitter with the occasional spot-start. McPherson needs to be playing everyday, not rotting on the bench. And those who think (or want) he'll get called up and replace Cantu are living in a fantasy world. Ain't gonna happen.

Specially with the fish heading to the AL side for interleague. Perfect DH candidate.
May 24, 200818 yr Bring up McPherson so that we can actually have a relatively decent option at 3b. Cantu doesnt have a good enough bat to cancel out his defense.

May 24, 200818 yr So stupid we are calling Andino back up. WTF does he do for us? Really. With Andino we still have 24 men on the roster. Call up someone who can pinch hit early or late in the game like a Wood or Gall.
