With the #1 pick in the 2006 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins select...
if Tennessee gets the # 1 pick they will take Bush.

I will tell you what the Florida Marlins need to win
just to make sure, does anyone else of cuban descent find that offensive ?

What are YOU planning on doing...
If they do move, I hope it's to Tennessee so I can catch more home games... :plain

sorry im simply amazed
I'm sure Steinbrenner would trade the $45 million needed to build the new stadium for the D-Train...
-
Questioning the State....
if the state would invest in the economy, maybe i could get a job down there that paid a living wage and I wouldn't have had to move to Tennessee ?

I've been a Marlins fan since it was announced they would be an expansion team, however, i don't think I can take too many more of these " rebuilding " era's.. this is getting pretty old.

Here's the new Marlins Stadium
if you ask me... it doesn't look like there needs to be a retractable roof on this stadium... it has so many holes in it... I'm sure the rain would get through... :mischief

Another A.J rumor..
maybe AJ and Lowell will go to Tampa for Baez and Huff ? 853861 And where does Tampa Bay come up with the money when their new owner is strangling the franchise? I was reading somewhere that they're actually are having some furniture liquidator selling merchandise on the concourse to make a few extra bucks. Even if AJ went 10-0 and Lowell hit .320 the rest of the way, the Devil Ray's won't be in contention. Makes no sense. 853867 D-Rays ownership is taking alot of heat for not investing money into the team, and their new owner in NY, I think his name is Sternberg, is supposed to take over team operations next year. Huff and Baez actually do make alot of money combined, Huff I believe is Tampa's highest paid player.

Selig speaks Marlins Stadiums
You do realize that... if the Marlins became the big ticket in town, and a new ballpark and winning made sellout games... those ticket prices are gonna soar and cause some of us, less uh... " rich " fans to be able to attend games...

Is the Retractable Roof really nessesary ? i mean, sure, it would be really nice, but is it a sticking point to where if they can't get the retractable roof, they would leave ? if they just made it an open air stadium, the money would be there.

Has anyone heard anything?
maybe they'll trade AJ/Lowell to the Yanks for Kevin Brown and Sheffield... horrible trade, yes... atleast Miguel can shift to 3B... ?

Selig speaks Marlins Stadiums
I lived in Tampa for the longest time and follow the Rays as well, they don't need a new stadium. The Trop could be renovated, for instance, getting rid of the catwalks around the roof, but other than that, a Domed stadium in Florida is worth it and it's not that old, finished around the late 1980's and re-renovated in 1997 for baseball, it's fine. If they won games, they would sell seats. It's actually a good place to watch baseball and the people that put it down often times are people that have never seen a game there. The Rays also have 27 more years on their lease with Tropicana Field. The Marlins are in a diffrent boat, I think a 38k seat stadium is too small for a team in Miami, a New Stadium actually IN MIAMI will be very popular, especially for those that don't like to drive and have nothing better to do than go downtown for a game. It would really be a better situation for the Marlins to build a 40-42k seat stadium and put it downtown. imho.

Fort Myers Marlins that has a nice ring to it... that said... why don't the Marlins buy the Miracle and use them as a Minor League team ? 852180 The Miracle were the old Miami Marlins. The moved west when the Marlins were awarded. They are owned by a group including Jimmy Buffett and some other celebs. Veeck's family still has a big hand in promoting the Miracle too. 852425 I saw a couple Miracle games awhile back when I lived in the area. nice place/experiance.

Sports Movie Championship
Major League is actually a team of misfits trying to win and play baseball. Sandlot is a bunch of kids that use baseball as a theme for their movie, in reality, they're using it to show they're growing up in a neighborhood as friends and growing close bonds through the summer. Major League is the better Baseball Movie.
