  1. yeah, had they won the world series the firesale would have still happend... you can only lose so much money. I'm not fond of Loria or Samson at all but a fact is a fact, owning a MLB team in So. Florida is a money pit, obviously there is alot of support for the Marlins but the thing about that support is that most of it isn't buying products or filling seats at Dolphin Stadium. If I was the owner, I'd put as much money as I could into the team.. but there comes a time when you've lost too much money and things have to change. I believe that until a new stadium is built there will be around 1-2 firesales every decade...
  2. I had 1 removed, it didn't hurt at all, came out in 1 peice.. I had 4 shots of novacaine in my gums and was numb for 6 hours.. but other than that.. I was eating solid food that night... theres users that will be after you... watch what you open tommorrow... >_> I don't get it.... either way.. I never open anything anyways

  4. I've also got to say, this is surprising to me since it takes them completely out of the Torii Hunter sweepstakes next offseason...and he's a guy the Yankees have obsessed over for 2+ seasons. uhh.. It's the Yankees.. they'll sign Hunter to play bench coach if that's what it takes... http://cbs4boston.com/sports/local_story_354222357.html at this point soxs have no OF. I could barley read your post... was too busy watching that sig... :notworthy
  5. you know... I believe everyone saw this coming... It's not like 2 weeks ago Loria came out and said " I'm trading the roster " if you bought tickets then you bought tickets. if I bought a satalite dish to watch night court on tv land, and tv land then took it off and replaced it with boosum buddies, I wouldn't be on the phone to Directv asking for a refund. you have Marlins season tickets man, enjoy it.. even if they lose 100 games it's worth it.
  6. This IS Positive, and it is true, it will bring the Marlins more customers, fans that go see dolphins will then after go see Marlins, it's right around the corner anyway, and on your way pass by wayne's cuisine! Then go fix you hair at Wayne Salon! then don't forget to " pass " the cuisine in the state of the art pay Waynes. :lol
  7. maybe they can do a promotion... a general admission ticket for a Dolphins AND Marlins game on Saturdays and Sundays in August and Sundays in September and October. play a 1pm kickoff Dolphin game.. get a bite to eat and go to the Marlins game at 7:30 sounds like a plan !
  8. 15 acres, if you could shoehorn the stadium onto a site that small, would leave it surrounded like a island in the Sea of Huizenga. 15 acres is more than enough room for a baseball stadium. Jacobs field is on a smaller lot of 12 acres. http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/index.htm is called investment. If he can charge for parking and built a restaurant/hotel complex around it, he would make a lot more than 50 mil I wouldn't think he would need the Marlins in order to build a hotel, then he would make the same money and keep his 50 Million. He's got more in mind than making back 50 Million in parking.. that would take a very long time. You need more than just a hotel. The area can have a Sunset Place type of shopping, restaurants and hotel. Having a baseball stadium that guarantees 81 home dates will help not only attract people to the area but attract them to the stadium. man, I dunno what I was thinking, I overlooked the 81 home games for people to be going through Wayne's stuff... my bad :thumbup

  10. So assuming Loria is still looking to contribute $190M+ this is what we have. Miami-Dade- $118M Marlins- $190M Wayne- $50M and 15 acres Total: About $358M With a state rebate they could have another $60M. Not sure what Wayne plans to do with the money the team got in the early 90's to renovate DS. why would Wayne give land and money ? is he going to get a part of the ownership back ? So he can build DolphinTown. That seems to be a bit much just for that, or is the 50M just going to be a loan ? That hasn't come out yet. The reports have just stated 50M and 15 acres land. Maybe he wants a part of the ownership, where.. through the years.. he'll keep buying and buying to where he becomes the majority owner again and has two stadiums nextdoor and his little town.

  12. *For the record, I think very highly of Olsen and don't want him traded. But I also know we really, really need a good/great CF. And if Admin believes in the tampa kid, then i will drink the CoolAid and believe. And i know we have enough pitchers to offset Olsen. But if i'm a GM of another team and I see the Marlins willing to trade Olsen I start calling. I still can't believe there isn't more of a sure thing young CF for the or one of the top LHP prospects in the game. I trust you Admin. If you pull the trigger I will root for this guy, but Olsen is a high price for anyone. :thumbup 81 posts gets you to Double AA? This could be the fastest promotion in my life? Ofcourse History says i will crash and burn and be banned from the leauge before i ever get that far. You guys don't drug test right? rookie.

  16. if anything happens on the stadium front, I believe it's going to be involving Wayne.
  17. San Antonio Marlins sounds bout right...
  18. Loria won't sell... you'd have a better chance seeing Heuzinga dancing nude across the Rickenbacker Causeway with Bud Selig, Fay Vincent, and Bart Giomatti.
  19. i'm sure the mayor will be swayed by a geocities website...
  20. why would gambling in Vegas be any diffrent from gambling in Florida and Missouri ? all you have to do in Florida is go out on a ship to international waters, I've been several times...
  21. You folks are killing me, comparing the Dolphins and Marlins attendances.. For starters, the Dolphins have played in Miami since 1966.. they have 27 years on the Marlins, So of course, they have a much larger fan base than the Marlins do. This is the SOUTH, Football is king... Major League Baseball has only been in Florida since 1993, and only in the South since 1966. The Dolphins play 10 Home Games each season and the average ticket is roughly $54. The Marlins play 81 Home Games each season and the average ticket is roughly $27. do the math... 10 Dolphins Games = $540.00 81 Marlins Games = $2,187.00 not to mention the fact that the Dolphins don't have a firesale every other season and they aren't a threat to skip town...
  22. could be that the drive from downtown is 30 minutes without traffic... i know of alot of people in Tampa that refuse to drive to Rays games because of the same distance... if the stadium in both cities were in downtown miami/tampa then attendance would be up in both...
  23. The Marlins aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I wouldn't go that far, you can never say never when it comes to losing a team...
  24. it's a shame Rose isn't getting in.
