Jason Giambi
Between Giambi, A-Rod & Sheffield, the yanks are tearing it up 921615 good thing they waited until the last month of the season to tear it up

Jason Giambi
DTrainFan: How is saying "Giambi did well, and so did Leiter" going off topic?? There's nothing wrong with expanding the conversation a bit. 920075 no he was being a smart ass like mets fans are most of the time anyhow im not going to bitch about this all day Giambi has been hot all this month i think he deserves CBPOTY 920516 how about respecting other posters first and foremost. The only one who has shown to be an ass in this topic is you. I'm sure you contribute just fine to the rest of the site but there really is no need to sling elementary school insults

Juan Pierre's Future
The problem I have with keeping/re-signing Pierre is essentially the same problem I have as us keeping Gonzalez; Both players are overvalued right now. Here's a newsflash for a lot of you guys. . . . .Even at his best, Juan Pierre was not a great leadoff hitter. He doesn't walk enough. We need him to hit around .350 for him to get on base enough for us to score some runs, and that's a lot to ask. He plays subpar defense and his arm is a big liability. The media really hyped him up a lot in 2003 and as a result his value is higher than it should be. Do we overpay decent players like Pierre and Gonzalez or do we use our limited resources to keep the Cabrera's and the Willis's?? The tradeoff between Pierre and whoever replaces him may be negative for us, but not by much. Same goes for Gonzalez. Those are the types of players we need to let go so that we can keep/pursue vital pieces of our team. Who are we gonna get to replace Cabrera?? Whoever it is won't even be in Cabrera's ballpark. If they were undervalued I would like to keep both, but you know teams will be throwing money at these guys and it's not worth it for us. 908547 I say Agons glove is worth way more than his bat, and his bat ain't too bad.

Juan Pierre's Future
the best move no matter what IMO is to keep him next year as it's his contract year. Nothing motivates a player like an "audition" year, especially with suitors like the yanks and such. Pierre is still a hell of a ball player. I personally think he set his goals too high this year (batting title, heh) but he's still solid. He obviously isn't swinging the bat the way he is capable of but the speed and toughness are still there. Theres not really enough time to turn around your season at this point but if he can pick up the avg. heading into the homestretch and then keep that Mo' to start off next year he'll be fine. He's still relatively young and was honestly playing above his head in 2003 anyway. btw, the rox keep having discussions here to bring him back :lol

Peter Gammons:"The only bad thing about Dontrelle"
Oakland had the best 3 for awhile and look where they got. We're lucky to have 3 horses like we do but it'd still be nice to hit the ball every now and then. Once the bats move it's gravy

Clarett Faking Injury?
i was out at Dove valley before they left for Houston and the talk around was that he was hurt, just not "sit out" hurt. The MRI came up with nothing so Shan and crew said he should be trying to improve his status instead of sitting nursing a high school type injury. He does jaw a lot though and no one seems to like him on the team.

Both Games Postponed.....
living here in Denver I can say that they could have played today, it never snowe and there was only light, light rain. Considering i spent $200 on 2 seats 2 rows behind the Marlins dugout for all 3 games Im totally dissapointed, but i guess on the bright side Travis Smith didnt have to start! Dont get me wrong, it was freezing today, but they could have played. 757470 it snowed a good amount in Denver today. I live about 10 minutes from Coors field and it snowed for a good 3 hours straight. The reason they called the games wasn't because it was horrible at game time but the forecast had the storm hanging around all day, which it did. Hope you got to go to the first (and only) game. I took my kid and had a blast. If only there were pictures....... Beckett getting started in Game 1 on Tuesday JB vs. PW (Preston roped a double) The snow that killed my trip to Coors today
