  1. There are some of us who agree. Not sure why (FO) he is still in the line up.
  2. The biggest question is Did the pitching change affect the outcome of the game with Olsen or did the lack of hitting and 2 errors? 108 pitches is a lot of pitches for a guy coming up from double A.
  3. Do you use the "cut & paste" feature because you post the same thing about every other day.
  4. Lets put this in perspective. This is the last year (if he makes it) for McKeon. Lowell's contract is for 3 more years. It is obvious McKeon does not much to do with who the Marlins bring up to the majors. We have read comments from unnamed players about the constant line up shuffling, the benchings, blah, blah and blah. Lets take a wild guess who these players might be who complain to Beinfest and to the press ..................anyone bet it is Lowell, Pierre, Lieter. My guess is upper management sided with the players and thus you are stuck with this line up. Personally, Lowell isnt Mr. Marlin and never will be. We should have traded him while he had value and put Miggy at third. We still have time though for this to occur, we just might not get what we really need in return.
  5. How about the bullpen was managed better because we won and the pen did a good job. It is always the same situation. From what I read, McKeon delegates to his coaching staff (maybe too much). Wiley usually sits right beside him and together, consensus management is used to make decisions.
  6. but he is a high school coach and has been in these situations before.
  7. I would dare to say that no manager has a set style. Depending on situation, style will differ. Yes, Larussa likes to squeeze in certain situations but not always. It cost him sometimes. Others have certain tendencies but to say any manager has a certain style (other than Weaver) may be somewhat over-simplifying the issue and especially with the Marlins. Most managers style is to do what it takes to win and in our case, this has not happened this year.
  8. Your perception of waiting for 3-run homers is one thing but I seriously doubt McKeon has changed his coaching style from 2003 till now. Teams change, players age and perform differently. It may appear that breaks were put on runners but he has stated that certain players still have the green light to run. They just are not as successful as in 2003. IMO, we had several key players have career-type years. Throughout the lineup, someone always stepped up (even D. Lee on occasions). You had Mordy and Castro who came through in the clutch off the bench. So blame the managers, coaches, FO for players not performing. Since we have only 2 hitters (Cabrera and Delgado), it would appear that the only way to score runs is a home run.
  9. who said it did?
  10. Treanor, Dillon, Aguilar or for that matter, Willingham are not on same page as Franco or Perez who are veterans. Easley is utlilized similarly as Franco and Perez. The Marlins are not today in the same situation as the Braves. Like with the Marlins in 2003, the Braves have to play rookies because of injuries.
  11. Willy has proved nothing on the major league level. The question should be why did the FO bring him up when they know he was not going to play. When the owner, GM and manager say in a team meeting that they would stick with pretty much a set, original line up, what do you expect. They are going to try to win with what they envisioned to be their everyday line up. Senility?
  12. rferry daughter? Nope Abstract. so that makes me speak concrete? cartoon Im fine with that. MYOB
  13. Rferry, I will ask the following again:Do you know if Joe has not been in the clubhouse everyday like you reported? Where have I ever said I had contacts anywhere within the clubhouse like you reported? Your last comment is not worth debating. I don't need excuses, nor is this my life.
  14. so are you saying that ether could not have resulted in the Big Bang. As a scientist (Pchem), I think I know about ether.
  15. Never mentioned any names, now did I but if you did the research? Not sure where the word liar was used. Are you a reporter or just another Answer the questions since you have all the answers. Do you know if Joe has not been in the clubhouse everyday like you reported? Where have I ever said I had contacts anywhere within the clubhouse like you reported?
  16. Not my word big guy. FYI: Joe has not been in the clubhouse everyday. FYI: Never said I had contacts anywhere within the clubhouse. maybe to get a "headline" story during the time of trouble for the Marlins
  17. Do you know it was Joe C? No one is bashing either the Post or Joe...just discussing facts vs what was written. And it wouldn't be a big deal because they have been relatively "fair" in their journalism of the Marlins.
  18. Now that made as much sense as your initial arguement about CSM. What proof do we need not to live in caves. Maybe ether did make the universe resulting in the Big Bang theory. Science is about proving theories. Journalism is...well I dont want to hurt your feelings.
  19. and that matters whether I remember or not or who my sources are. The fact is that what was printed by a sports writer in at least 2 cases was incorrect.
  20. You are correct, Marlins2003. Boog did mention it but the story was quickly covered up in the post. Not just one misprint but at least two. Too bad that forum posters still believe everything, right or wrong, in print.
  21. go back and read the articles and tell me about quotes. Trust me, his reputation is tarnished
  22. Irresponsible? News media does it all the time. You can believe what you want. No one cares. Just trying to get you to read between lines when you do read the news. As for lawsuits in the sportsworld, it doesnt happen too often. There have been many cases, that you will never hear about, where sports writers have been kicked out of clubhouses, lost their press credentials and kicked out of the local sports market........ There are things that newspapers dont want to expose when it is about them!
  23. Although both journalism, TV is different. Newspaper reporters interview and slant articles to their liking. These guys travel with the team, develop reputations and are rarely edited by guys behind a desk. They do get called on the carpet if they write "untrue" comments and could loose their press credentials. Marlins2003 - you are right of target.
  24. I am not talking about high school newsletters. "deathly Serious" Pretty strong words from a kid
  25. and that proves what? Did you ask the reporter? No.....
