Think we can get Wil Myers from KC?
We don't have a SP worthy enough. The only one who might possibly get it done is Turner. It doesn't seem to make sense for either side. KC would probably want Nolasco since they love overpaying for mediocre SP's apparently because Dayton Moore is a weirdo in that sense, but it would just be a salary dump. Nolasco is worth a lot of nothing, at this point. If you notice, the teams rumored to be in talks for Myers (Rays, A's, Mariners, D'Backs) are all loaded with good young pitching. Chance we can put Conley, Eovaldi or similar with Nolasco and pry him?

Im no GM, but I believe the Marlins should trade Stanton if...
Why is everyone so certain that Stanton is a goner when neither he nor the Marlins have discussed a contract extension yet? I mean, how can you so readily assume that there is 0 percent chance he signs long term? All of this trade talk seems kind of silly to me until the Marlins actually make Stanton a competitive offer for a contract extension and he refuses. So I'd wait until there's a standstill in the negotiations and then try to move him. Otherwise, the trade talk is premature. I think folks are jumping to conclusions based on Peter Gammons interpretation of Stanton's feelings. All the other stories are derivatives of this one "feeling". And you think they'd know better, as Gammons has swooped in like a vulture on any and every decent player the Marlins had. Sorry, not buying his interpretation. Sorry Gammons but don't get yourself over-heated dreaming about Stanton in Red Sox colors. Let's just see how this turns out before we assume he's traded. Gammons was or is a fan of the Marlins too.

Giancarlo Stanton is the only way you get Wil Myers. I haven't seen a MLB post saying they require an ace for Myers, simply a SP. Not to mention he went from the 10th best prospect to the 28th from 2011 to 2012. You would believe his stock may be falling slightly based on that.

Think we can get Wil Myers from KC?
Lol Realistically, with the need for a 3B/CF and KC interested in SP- what do you suggest in trade? I say Nolasco, and one of our SP prospects or Eovaldi for Myers and a low A player?

Lol Figured we can use More Threads!

Think we can get Wil Myers from KC?
Kansas City is shopping one of their top prospects, Wil Myers for Starting Pitching. Think the Marlins may be able to pry him away? Everyone knows Nolasco is available and KC has already hooked up in trades with the Marlins in the past (Mike Jacobs). Hopefully they give it a run, Myers has played 3B and CF for AAA last year. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=p_pbp&pid=571976

Marlins Rethinking Policy on No Trade Clause
From MLB TradeRumors and Inside Pitch: In an appearance on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM's Inside Pitch show, Marlins assistant GM Dan Jennings told hosts Jim Bowden and Casey Stern that the club's standing with both Major League and minor league free agents has changed in the wake of the controversial trade with the Blue Jays and the accusations of broken promises from Mark Buehrle. "We know that that is an issue. It's out there," Jennings said. "We probably will have to look at our policy of [not] granting no-trades, if it's something that we look to remove, [or] do you look to put more money on the front end [of contracts]? I think there's a lot of ways to address that." Read more at http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/#lESZisgCut27KFvT.99 Previously Admin Beinfest had stated that the Marlins would have to learn to live with their reputation but that they are aware of how it will hurt them. With Jennings now saying that they have to look at the policy is this further proof of a split in the front office or proof of the Marlins rethinking their policy on No Trade Clauses?

I came on to see if anyone had posted that trade idea from Schoenfield....it's not an awful trade and it would make the Rays a beast of a team to deal with. it's a trade they can easily pull off because they just have such ridiculous pitching depth. part of me wouldn't mind that deal because I feel Stanton will be gone anyway at some point, so they might as well send him here so i can see him = ) That is an horrible trade, why do the marlins need two more SP's, and one (davis) who I believe is a year from FA for a generational talent bat in stanton. Jennings is acceptable, the others I don't see a need for. We have a ton of SP prospects. Find a Ace. In free agency. Keep Stanton, let him walk if it comes to it.

I wouldn't mind any lineup of players who had a MLB Topps card this year.

Marlins A Playoff Team in 2013?
To the OP, if the Marlins make it to the playoffs next year, I'll wear a pink skirt and post the picture here on this forum. I can make that promise to you because I know the odds of that happening are less than 0.000001%. I've been a Marlins fan for 16 years and love the team to death, but just because we are fans doesn't mean we should kid ourselves about the sad state of the team. As for you being an optimistic Marlins fan: THAT DOES NOT COMPUTE!!! Oh what a bet. I'm sure you go out in matching pink blouses regularly

Mark Buehrle's last word on the Fish
Seriously though. Ocean Two - 19111 Collins Avenue, Sunny Isles Beach, FL. Penthouse Suite. There are two penthouses. He has the one facing the ocean. Jesus, I'd take that down if I were you. What's the harm? He comes to MB.com and sees it and calls the police? Your address listing isn't private. More of some moron taking the address and acting out- plenty of instances of the crazy just needing the info to go crazier. An example was when Spike Lee put out Zimmermans address.

Marlins A Playoff Team in 2013?
Marlins finish with 87 wins- 60 of them are from the other team forfeiting, something about not wanting to play in a burning stadium

LoMo, Nolasco, Escobar to Arizona for Upton. Keep Upton or trade him for whatever Texas offered. I wouldn't mind a team of Uptons and Stanton next year, considering where we are today. :lol that fits zero of that Arizona has stated they want for them to even consider moving him. They want a SS and SP, they in there lol

Mark Buehrle's last word on the Fish
I don't know; I don't. Better question: Who really gives a sh*t if there was a verbal agreement or not? The whole thing is irrelevant. ? Had it been Buehrle alone, you'd have a point - but when two (by general standards, good all-around) players say the same thing, then it becomes a bit harder to deny. That, and the structure of these contracts should raise enough suspicion for you to not ridicule it. But if you're just saying that because Buehrle didn't get it in writing, he should stop whining, then we aren't going to agree. I think that it's a sh*tty thing to do if it was indeed premeditated - and even if it wasn't, they should come out and apologize. Remember, Reyes also said the Mets didn't offer him a contract when it was proven they did. His credibility when he is hurt is shot. The most damning is JJ saying stanton may be gone next year. He never said anything bad- I take his word over Buerhle's and Reyes. Heath Bell is a shining example as to why not give a NTC. Buerhle and Reyes are the ones to prove you should get it. I like partial NTC in baseball, but full sometimes scare me. Imagine if Bell didn't want to leave. Let the player pick 10 teams he'll go to, and work it out.

I'd rather go to you. Come on down, let's both bump the thread. First ever Official MB.com Eiffel Tower? Maybe the 5 protesters will pay to watch via webcam. Boost site revenue. Admin, can you add a "18 to enter" and "click here to leave" before the homepage?

Pierre is going to start. They gave him too much money (lol) to not have him start. They already said he would get a lot of playing time in LF and leadoff. Ricky Nolasco really needs to be traded. What a waste of time it is to have him on this roster next year. Also, it's fitting that Anderson Perez and Eideny Echevarria are on the same team. Why is it fitting?

3) he's f***ing DTrain! He and JP will get that party pumping in the clubhouse and at BoobyTrap after! Why go to BoobyTrap when the Clevelander is right behind JP? Clevelander doesn't have the nudity booby trap does. It does have nudity, though, just painted over nudity. Remember all the pics "Marlins" stalkerishly posted of that one blonde? That's doesn't count. Thats Like having sex with a condom. You should go to BT's.

Marlins Park Protest
Pathetic. 5 people were there and one was pissed Coghlan wasn't called up. New, owners, for, the, marlins just rolls off the tounge. But it hasn't happened yet? It did, yesterday. The second one was because the first was so pathetic. Zaslow and Hochman had audio this morning. I was embarrassed for them.

Maybe the Marlins will bring back the D-Train
I'm in favor of going him a chance as a Marlin to end his career for three reasons. 1) he's never been the same mentally since he left, coming back to a familiar situation may help him. It could also give a troubled younger guy closure, who knows. 2) he meant alot to this team and he's still young, he could put it together in a pressure free situation and actually contribute. 3) he's f***ing DTrain! He and JP will get that party pumping in the clubhouse and at BoobyTrap after!
