He would probably be well above average at the position, yes. Move him to 2B, then CF, Then 3B before we flip him to the Blue Jays. Hopefully they can play him at 2B this year. A Infield like the one below may be solid. If they all average .270 and about 10-20 HR's it may be respectable even. 1B-Lomo 2B- Escobar SS- Hechevarria 3B- Reynolds The hope is Reynolds can hit .250 with 30 HR's. That would make up the average in HR's between he and Hechevarria.

If I'm understanding this right, we are looking to trade Escobar who is slated to be our 3B but is hitting 5th in our current order. We have Hechevarria at SS, Lomo at 1B. Are we legitimately looking at: Escobar at SS Reynolds at 3B Lomo at 1B and Sending Hechevarria down to AAA? I'm rather lost right now where Reynolds or any power hitter would play on this team next year with Lomo clogging 1B and Pierre in LF.

yeah tampa isn't the hottest act in town but hey the front office is loyal to their fans in whatever way they can. Yes they have lost a lot of talent in the recent years, but they have still managed to field a, world series caliber team in the process. So when they're no longer a World Series caliber team, which team do you plan on rooting for then? That's not something I see in the foreseeable future. and I don't see a reason why they shouldn't remain competitive for 5-10 years considering the pitching they have and will continue to have. How about the hitters the keep letting walk for nothing and not drafting since they are pitching obsessed. Crawford, Upton, and others. They can't keep losing them for nothing and expecting to have a fully stocked farm system in terms of Position players. They would be wise to move shields for Myers, but they are stuck once their position players "graduate" to a big contract. They have Longoria and a bunch of pitchers. You can't win like that, just ask the 2012 phillies.

I know it's early, but it's not there is any combination of availale AND attainable players that can turn this team into a playoff contender next season. We don't have a SP worthy enough. The only one who might possibly get it done is Turner. It doesn't seem to make sense for either side. KC would probably want Nolasco since they love overpaying for mediocre SP's apparently because Dayton Moore is a weirdo in that sense, but it would just be a salary dump. Nolasco is worth a lot of nothing, at this point. If you notice, the teams rumored to be in talks for Myers (Rays, A's, Mariners, D'Backs) are all loaded with good young pitching. Chance we can put Conley, Eovaldi or similar with Nolasco and pry him?
