If Stanton is dealt, I'm hoping it's to Seattle. I would want Pittsburgh or Arizona. PItching, pitching pitching. Seattle's young pitching is great, as well. But yeah, it would have to be a loaded farm system if we're making a trade. Who can we get from LAA? Trumbo and who else?

Is pretty much all hope lost for Skipworth becoming anything? it's bleak but not completely lost yet... he has shown some decent power at least and I think it was MarlinsLou who mentioned vs righties he did OPS .768 last season. Biggest thing to me is he hasn't even made a dent in his poor K and walk rates over 5 years of minor league play. Cross your fingers that Brantly keeps hitting in which case it won't matter. Usually catchers are slow to develop but he should be at most one more year away. Piazza was drafted in 88 and made his MLB debut in September 92, skippy isn't him with the bat but his defense if acceptable might get him a look before he's gone. Wasn't there a recent stud C that took 7 years to fully develop both bat and glove? I think his biggest problem was being drafted out of high school and needing to learn both D and offense at the MILB level. It's gotta be hard to learn both your staff and how to hit at the same time.

Our prospect list sucks. We have old prospects showing power and young guys with no power. We have SP's who project as 3's or could end up in the bullpen. We have C's who are SS's, another who has had 6 years to get to AAA. Not to mention the fact all of our guys supposedly have a "plus glove, but has yet to develop with the bat" I'm so disappointed. Only one I see as a top top prospect is Fernandez, and he's still raw. I really hope Yelich develops power, but without it I can't see why he's always rated so high. I don't know what to make of Ozuna at Jupiter. Speed and defense. They were lying this time. Unfortunately you still need to score runs to wins baseball games. But do any of these guys really deserve to e considered a top 40 prospect in all of baseball?

Just read Passan's article and he just seems to think that a team will be willing to empty their farm system completely for Stanton. Don't see that happening. Exactly, stanton has power you reminisce about with the greats and can only get better. He hit 37 hrs on one leg with missing a month or two. You give him you're checkbook and tell him write his own check. Then you tell him to write the checks to players he wants to play with in FA. A lineup of Arod, stanton, Hamilton would have been great to see, even with gorkys and Pierre in it. Assholes.

The problem is not many teams are going to completely decimate their farm system for one player, even if it is Stanton. We'd have to find a team with a rich farm and whose only a player or two away from competing or needs that final piece to get to the World Series. We're looking at a select few teams, and they may not even have what we're looking for in terms of prospects. If Stanton gets traded, I'd imagine multiple teams would be involved as not sure a single team could provide the proper prospect return Established powerless players would have to come back- I can't believe we're even speculating this. A buster posey, Todd Frazier, or similar would be involved. It would have to be a team desperate for power. Seattle, and Jesus Montero. Players of that caliper and then some. They cant trade away stanton for A,AA or AAA talent.

The should sign Manny Ramirez, seriously. He was never given a fair chance in Oakland and he might still be able to play and cheap. Sign Livan too- and offer DTrain a ST invite and put him on the 40 man. In all seriousness- all three might pan out.
