Trip Time!
Its do able but make sure you are able to drop off the car in LA without any extra fee's or charges. It happened to me and my dad where we just ended up taking a plane to SF from LA. I don't know much about San Diego but you can go to Sea World. In LA you will be bombarded by traffic especially downtown but Dodger Stadium is great(get a dodger dog), In LA you can go to Universal Studios or at night go to the shops resturaunts or clubs infront. Definalty go to the Pier and Beach. Doable but you are looking at about 4 hours of drive time. A thing to do is maybe stop in orange county on the way to la. Catch an angels game? Go to Disney? check out the Pacific Coast highway on the way up there. You will pass so many great places. Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Laguana Beac etc... While in San Diego the best thing is probably the zoo. It is impossible to go through the whole thing in a day, but find stuff you might want to check out and do it. Once you are in LA there is a bunch to check out. You can go up to Venice Beach which isn't that far away. In LA check out Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Santa Monica, Santa Monica Mountains, Malibu Bluffs, Point Mugu, Hollywood etc... I used to live in Santa Ana so I know the area and what to do pretty well. If you want PM me and i'll give you my email and if you have any questions let me know.

Varitek back to the BoSox
Congratulations to the overrated one. I do not think he is overrated. Everyone knows he isn't a good hitter. He is a great defense catcher and an amazing game caller. You will never hear a pitcher say they haven't gotten better. You also will hear every guy who ever pitched for him loved him. Papelbon's been regressing... it's not overwhelmingly obvious, but as most Sox fans have told me, it's due to Varitek calling too many fastballs in high pressure situations. Beckett also slowed down after the year before last's performance He was injured and Papelbon's splitter has lost some umph. He actually calls less fastballs now. He used to always call high fastball with 2 strikes. He now calls a lot of dirt pitches with 2 strikes.

Favorite Amateur Covers
this kid does an amazing job of covering avenues. I was looking for the original to show someone else and this is the only version on youtube, but its great how close he is too the original song.

Hanley + Maybin
Maybin single Maybin steals 2nd Baker walks Hanley 3 run HR Wonder how often we will see this in 09..... I'm thinking Maybin singles, Baker hit and run, Hanley 3-run Homer. I am thinking Maybin grounds out Baker K's Hanley K's next inning Uggla K's Hermida K's looking. Since they did a good job of that last year I LOL'ed. Hey, at least at that point the pitcher has thrown at least 15 pitches..........maybe he's getting tired! That is it! They K for 7 innings to get to the bullpen.

Mets fans take to the streets
God i hope they dont get him. He might actually do somethign when the pressuers on. which surprises me that they haven't gone after him. They have thrown bad contracts at guys under the Omar era I am surprised they wouldn't throw one at Manny. You at least know you can get 3 good years out of him. Maybe they don't have the money. You know the Mets ownership lost a lot of money in the Madoff scheme. didn't think about the madoff scheme. They are also in a new stadium which will have increased revenues for at least a few years.

Obama issues order to close Gitmo
maybe we can start on solving some of these domestic problems which you mention...SUCH AS MOTHER-f***ING GLOBAL WARMING!!! I'd love to know how you came to the conclusion that global warming is a domestic problem? domestic=our problem global=everyone's problem are we a part of everyone? i think we are...make sense to you? huh? So that would make it a global problem... since GLOBAL warming is EVERYONES problem, since EVERYONE lives on the PLANET that is GLOBALLY WARMING. Unless climate change is only happening in the United States....

New Renderings Released!!
Too me it just looks like an updated rendering. Basically what you are seeing is 2005 stuff vs. 2009 stuff. Corny glass towers went out and the roof has been toned down a little. Other than that its very similar. The roof overhangs one side. It has a glass outfield that opens, and it appears to have the same seating setup. Until we see inside we do not know how different the designs are, but the old ones never really show inside information.

Hermida takes position change in stride
hopefully the less stress improves his hitting game.

Marlins Sign Kiko Calero
Our bullpen keeps getting better and better. hopefully someone comes out and takes that closer roll and I think the bullpen will be solid.

Another anti-stadium rant by the Miami Herald
column writers write for readership, so the ranting is popular and they do it.

The Dismantling of Shea Stadium Has Begun
sort of sad. Shea is so ugly, but its sad to see it go. At least when you are the train now you go by the nice tennis courts and then the nice ballpark.

Dunn or Abreu?
I rather keep both since the Dunn/Abreau etc will only be a one year deal.

New Renderings Released!!
The new ballpark will feature a large-scale animatronic marlin in a tank which will "jump" when the Fish hit a home run. I'm guessing that's going in the Bermuda Triangle area. Sounds a little bit like copying New York's apple but still cool. Thats like comparing apples and....marlins. still corny.

New Renderings Released!!
"They hope to be able to play in a 37,000 seat, retractable-roof stadium by Opening Day 2012. It will include 1,000 standing room only tickets." I found this interesting. Standing room only tickets. :mis2 Will 6,000 parking spots be enough for a possibility of 38,000 people? Assume 3 people on average per car we should be able to accomadate 18,000 people. I guess the other 20,000 will need to find parking outside the complex. If anyone on this board lives in that area, do you think this will be a potential problem? Well, the Orange Bowl didn't have nearly that many parking spots and we somehow learned to deal. Also, have to account for train rides. It may not be popular at first, but after time everyone south that can take the train will eventually be riding the train.

Tom Brady Might Miss Next Season
Bump. Brady says he's going to play in Pat's opener. if it looks certain I bet they will trade Cassel.
