New Mexico got a big win over BYU today. With wins over Ole Miss and BYU we are quietly starting to put together a nice resume. Better win the MWC tourney, because right now getting 3 out of the MWC might not be possible. SDSU is a lock and Utah looks pretty secure.

i really hate this negative bulls*** is there anything positive ever published by this horrendous media down here towards the new stadium or marlins fans in general? the media is about negative news, never positive news. What I got from this article is that the writer must have tweeked his/her writing skills from a message board. Using some truths as a prelude to passing off half truths and non truths as facts to support his/her opinion, hoping beyond belief that no one will bother to actually look up the facts. Classic message board journalism. I believe the deal gets done. But be honest with yourselves. If this thing went to a public vote, do you really think it would pass?? Of course it wouldn't. Not becuase people don't want the stadium, but becuase of that little three letter word called "Tax". That is all they will see, even though it won't come from Miami Dade property taxes, or sales tax. The voters would cry "Schools, Police, Fire" even though the Hotel Bed Tax can only be used for Tourist and Convention Development (stadiums). Taxes would be a huge part of it, and more so in these tough economic times. But another part would be the same as trying to get the state tax breaks. Folks would be looking at the over publisized attendance figures and say that even the Marlins fans don't care so why should they help foot the bill. I also browse some other places and Sky Scrapper City has a huge topic on it and EVERYONE there (besides about 3 people) hate the idea of the stadium and not because of taxes and not understanding where they go, but because they want those to go to new or renovated Convention Centers. Many think that is a more viable option. Not knowing Miami/Miami Beach/Miami Gardens all that well I do not know much about the CC and if that would be a better use, but it is an interesting argument I suppose.

See you guys say great deal and it is for the phils but I look at hamals and say why, all you get is security that you'll be some where for a while and get your money. I would have def gone to arbitation. But then again with how easily pitchers get hurt signing and avoiding arbitation isnt the worst thing to do i guess. Well, it has nothing to do with how long he is going to be there. I didn't see anything about a no-trade clause plus he's going to be in Philly for the next 3 years anyways. It's more of a security blanket, in case of injury. When he does hit FA in 3 years, then he'll get his big money. I am sure he likes Philly so hopefully get 3 more good or decent years and hope the big money comes then. Instead of going to Arb maybe being locked up and having to wait a little longer for that deal. Right now young he is still bringing in good money and hopefully has 2 or 3 contracts left in him.

Really? Since when does ESPN hate the Dolphins or the Heat? Not sure about the Heat, but there is a lot of Dol-Hate on ESPN. Besides the Cowboys, I thiink the Fins were the most covered NFL team throughout the season on ESPN. with the wins, the tuna and then before the season the whole sparano sopranos thing. A lot of coverage.
