Joe Mather's catch in the 8th inning...
I could be wrong but I was in the section past the cardinals bullpen, and up high so I had a pretty good side view of it, and it looked like a catch to me. I was sitting by there too. Did you see the dork that was painted in red and had the fruity cape? He looked like he was covered in menstrual blood. :| How do you know what menstrual blood look like, LOL

Joe Mather's catch in the 8th inning...
Water under the bridge, we did not win. Good point. We lost and we continue to slide...... How are we "continuing to slide" when we're basically in the same spot we were in last week, despite the fact we've faced much tougher teams than the Phillies & Mets, over that span? Didn't we play the Mets & Phillies.

Bring back Sheffield?
Not that I'm necessarily endorsing bringing him back, everyone's talking about him playing outfield and such, but everyone seems to forget he played 3b with Milwaukee, Sand Diego and us his first year in teal. Say what you will, he was one of the best all-time Marlins, in my opinion, and I think he honestly enjoyed his time in S. FL. And I think his fiery temper and outgoing personality is sorely needed on this team right now, as no one seems to be willing to step up and be vocal (most of the manager), taking this team to task for the lazy mistakes they're making. I guess in the end I am endorsing bringing him back. It's be great to see Cantu at first and McPhearson/Sheff platooning at third. By the way, he was indeed placed on waivers today. The fans here don't want anyone with a firey temper, they are happy with a manager who just say tomorrow is another day, and players who high five and do dances when someone hit a homerun, and they are happy. you read it here, say something about a player making a mistake and you are jump on.

Is Josh Willingham done for the season?
Come on. Every week people are calling for someone else's head. Hermida, Jacobs, Uggla, Hammer. This is our damn team for the rest of the season, let's support them. We've won with them all season long So vote that you have faith. Personally, while I have been against some of the hate some players have been getting, I think its justified with Josh. He just isn't healthy, and hasn't been since he came back. Nobody can really deny it either. Its hard because he's a nice kid and makes you want to root for him, but lets face it, he sucks right now, and it doesn't look like he's close to snapping out of it. What's the alternative, Gonzo? Then he goes 0-4 one game and we'll be burning him at the stake. I understand Hammer isn't the Hammer of old but this is OUR team that got us this far, we need to have faith. Last week it was Jacobs, then he gets hot at Shea and now the bullseye moves to someone else. Sometimes its having the right mix of players that makes a team good. Look at the Yankees, they've been fielding a team of allstars for the last couple of years and haven't won anything. They won their WS with guys like Scott Brocius, Paul O'Neill, Tino Martinez, guys that on paper didn't blow you away but made it work as a team. These Marlins have a similar chemistry, a lot of guys on paper don't look like allstars, but somehow as a team they make it work First of all, comparing us to a Yankees team that won over 100 games multiple times is a TERRIBLE analogy. Second, Jake was cold. Josh is not healthy. There is a difference. Hitters go through hot and cold streaks, but Josh just isn't healthy right now and its plain as daylight. His bat speed isn't there, the back is still bothering him, and I don't see how waiting it out is going to do anything... a bad back doesn't just get better by playing baseball everyday. My analogy is terrible. Yet all the bandwagon jumping is fine. Maybe we should trade Hanley for Sheffield, b/c he's cooled off. I mean its just out of hand with all these.. "get rid of so-and-so" There's no support at all, everyday there's a new dismantling scenario. I'm fan of this team regardless who's on the field. Can we be better? Probably. But we can also be worse. Why don't talk about how much the Philly's and Mets suck rather than our own team. Last i check i'm not a fan of the mets or phillies, why do i have to talk about them, you cannot expect fans to talk about the team only when they win a game.

go fish i agree i don't have confidance in pinto like i use to......i don't know why i get nervous when i see guys like justin miller, pinto, hendrickson, oh and how can i forget gregg...well he has been good after series in colorado Yea exactly... as for Gregg he is the exact opposite of what I felt about him earlier whenever he comes in I am at comfort because I know 9.5 times out of 10 he is going to get it done, without problems I could not always say that. Thanks for giving me some positive feedback, its appreciated. norob man lol i agreed in everything u said...while this loss won't make or break us it was important because this series is used to make a statement.....and the mets did it....just like we did in philly. What can we do? As a marlins fan i can't wait for tomorrow to send jj out there and hopefully go 3-3 on this trip....which isn't too bad. Good thing we come home hopefully take series from cardinals...and i hate to be like this but....i think we can actually sweep the cubbies We can't keep on saying that, we will sweep this team and that team, we have to do it.

Bats in a funk.
Folks were saying the home run derby mess up hitters swing, i may be wrong because i'm not a stats keeping, since the ASG what is Uggla stats like?
-
Fredi's decisions today
A Suicide squeeze would have been suicide, a left handed pitcher can see the break to home and could just move the pitch outside and helms would have been dead meat. That is why it is call a suicide squeeze :cool

what's wrong with marlin fans!
let me say this, i don't care one way or another about a new stadium, i move here in dec 06, and i would place a wager that i have been to more games up until now than some of you who live here all along, the attendance will always be a problem whether we like it or not, i can from a city that is buliding two new stadiums and it is not a problem because the taxpayers are not carrying load,i hope the stadium goes through but until then people will continue to talk about it, I think what we should do, when we read a thread we don't like just move to the next one, banning people who talk about the attendance will not put people in the seats.

what's wrong with marlin fans!
You know it pi$$ me off when someone mention anything about the team and it is negative the abuse you take, everything can't be about this player is great or the next player can hit the ball out of the park, when you read someone saying everyone here who are from out of town should go back, i have a question, if everyone here from out of town go back, how many people would be left in s, fla?, i say we can discuss every thing about the team good and bad, there is no team that don't have some bad about it, so please my friends don't take everything personal, the owners still live in their mansions, and we the fans are still worrying about how we will feed our families, so take it cool.

Josh Willingham
I mention that in another thread, all we were hearing, wait until Willingham return, the day he return it was, his nickname Time, sorry i don't call people by nicknames, it seem like we are still waiting for his return. HAMMER TIME! Why won't you call people by nicknames...or even mention them? Did a nickname touch you when you were a kid? Inever like calling people by a nickname, i could explain, when i was a kid i was call a nickname and my mother blast the lady who did, she told her i did not name my son that, if you want him call him by his given name and i grown up that way, do unto others, as you would like them to do unto you.
