  1. I say no, i wonder why because we like a team we think everything is great with that team, if Ross hit two more homerun will we be seeing someone saying he should be in the HR derby, i think that is one of the reason Hanley is second in the voting, we should be focusing on voting for him to be a starter, instead everyone is asking to split our time on him and Uggla.
  2. I have been to chat rooms, message boards, forums and so on and so forth. One very dissapointing thing I hear from other fans though is "Wow Dolphins Stadium looks packed how many fans showed up 200?" It bothers me but I can always use history especially on the Phillie fans (Phillies -1980, Marlins- 1997,2003) I know no one on this board can really do anything about the attendance at Dolphins stadium (Terrible Stadium, wayyyy overpriced) but I only hope we get the new stadium deal figured out and finalized "SOON" so I can sleep better at night. Another thing, its nice to see a Marlins website, created by Marlins fans, with a "DECENT AMOUNT" of Marlins Fans here on a daily basis. Another big thing, little to no flaming, trolling, spamming, everyone does their job here and it makes everything that much better. Props to the Marlins Staff here. :notworthy :thumbup here is your comeback: yeah, there may be only three fans here, but i guarantee you those are the three biggest, most dedicated fans anywhere in the country. id like to see you follow and regularly attend games for a $20mil payroll team that the local media constantly poops on (despite how well we play) in a hot, humid, rainy, uncomfortable, oversized football stadium that is at least a half-hour away from 90% of the fans. look at the atlanta braves, for example. in the eighties, almost nobody went to their games except for a small core of diehards. when the braves finally started to win in the 90s those diehards who stuck with their team wore their loyalty to the braves through the bad times as a badge of honor. so will we. You see that as a negative?? I see that as a plus. Even tho I would argue the "90%" stat. Even if those that live south of the stadium argue the traffic flow means they have to drive 30 minutes or so to the stadium I have never heard any of them complain about the trip home. So what is it? 45 minutes round trip? To have the priveledge of seeing MLB teams play?? I would like to see the numbers for other stadiums and the time it takes their core of fans round trip. Because I would be willing to bet we are near the bottom of that list too. I used to go to Yankees stadium about twenty games a year from long island, talk about a commute to and from a game, night games are bad, rush hour getting over the bridge was no fun, i go to games here and it is a breeze coming from ft lauderdale.
  3. I only had one year in college, this is getting to deep for me.
  4. I must say... Tommy, Rich, and Craig have done a wonderful job following the Marlins. I look forward to every game 10x more because of how good of a job they do with the Marlins. Great announcing, always upbeat, great voices, intelligent, funny. It is no wonder why there is more Marlins fans sitting at home watching the Baseball game on television rather than at the baseball game itself. The Marlins Telvision supporters both FSN and SUN have the Television Ratings for the Marlins ranked just above the Top 10 in Baseball. Props keep up the good work! P.S. Don't Leave! I would like to know what you been drinking? who do you rate them against.
  5. Well, I am glad you like it here. When people say that we have no fans and our stadium is always empty, bla bla bla... I just laugh it off. Ignore them. Anyways, people talk about us, yet there's other stadiums that seem to look pretty empty as well (Pittsburgh, for example). This is a pretty tired topic on these boards, so expect people to say something about it. When I bring up Pittsburgh people usually shut up. They even have a new stadium (some call it the best of the new ones) and still 8,000 to 10,000 a night. They have ZERO excuses in Pittsburgh. If you checK Pittsburgh is ahead of our team. not by much but ahead
  6. I wonder if other teams are not using their RS dollars for their intended purpose. I think the reason the Marlins have avoided the leagues wrath so far is that they have been able to field competitive teams with a low payroll. You can't argue with sound business. On the other hand pocketing RS money and fielding low-caliber teams is going to get everyone ( fans, players, the union, owners) pissed off. My gut feeling about the Hanley deal was...meh. It seemed like alot of propoganda then and after reading this it still does. too bad, (fans, players, the union, owners and everyone else) can go cry. You can't really fault a team with only a 21.8 million dollar salary. Thats 9.5 times less than what the Yankees salary is at 209 million. We must remember if the Yankees did not have that payroll, a lot of teams would not get millions of dollars, remember one hand can't clap.
  7. I say yesyerday, this is a team we should sweep, it seem like they play to the level of the other team.
  8. I was saying that for awhile now, i know everyone like to see homeruns, just check the game thread, and most of the posts are about who hit homeruns in the game.
  9. I think we have to get over it, we cannot expect everyone to say nice things about the team, i hope when the new stadium comes, we don't have that same problem.
  10. Anybody or anything is for sale or trade if the price is right, the only person on a team who is untouchable is someone with a no-trade contract,
  11. I 'm hoping they sweep the worst team in baseball and don't look past them.
  12. How can you guys talk about the catcher's position, when rich and tommy say, that is one position on the team that is solid, don't need any changing.
  13. I am joyful that i did not go. It doesn't make you any less of a fan for not going. Some folks here think so.
  14. When all of the hitters stop going to the plate trying to hit every ball out of the park they will always have problems scoring runs of junk pitchers, i mean pitchers who throw alot of off speed stuff, not every ball in the 90's, JMO.

  16. When i first saw this thread, i though it was about the new stadium.
  17. Listen to the game last night, Rich waltz say one position the team is solid at is behind the plate, then i read on the board, the team need a catcher, when i go to the game or watch on tv, the pass balls and can't throw out anyone i wonder if we are watching the same team, sometimes i can't believe the things that comes out of his mouth.
  18. When i first join this board, that is the first thing i mention, and i hate to keep hearing about the weather, i sit in weather in the 90's, and here in s, fla it rain for about twenty minutes then it is sunny again, i think we should stop using the weather as an excuse, and go out and support the team.
  19. He should have voted for Uggla, because we know Hanley will make it.
  20. It seem like when someone don't play for your team they are not good, i say congrats to Jr on 600.
  21. What happen to Olsen? at the begin of the season he was the next big thing,
  22. They need a manager, not one who says "pitchers will have a bad game and hitters will have a slump", well we know that, and i will say it again, it seems like the team main concern when they go to bat is to hit a home run or nothing, what trouble me, you are down 8-2 Cantu hit a solo home run, you return to the dugout and everyone is doing a crazy dance and handshake, the play by play guy is going crazy. you wonder why they are in suck a slump.
  23. Chemistry thing is a little overated, just saw Manny Ramirez and Kevin Youkillis had to be seperated in the dugout after some finger pointing, team still win their eighth straight game at home,
  24. Congrats to the family on the birth of your little girl.
  25. Nothing cheap is good Nothing good is cheap
