Ramirez says he got away from fun-loving approach
http://blogs.sun-sen...ntinel+Blogs%29 I've been hard on Hanley ever since he booted that ball and lolly-gagged after it and badmouthed Fredi a few years ago. I did notice he seemed really pumped at the fashion show, and I was glad to see that. But it remains to be seen how he'll react to a Reyes signing. Thoughts?

Potential Israeli WBC Team
There was an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm years back in which Admin David's mother was buried in the Goyum section of the cemetery because they learned she had a tattoo on her butt. But yeah, I think it is pretty dumb to get a Star of David tattoo if you're a practicing, religious Jew. This is coming from a Jew.

Potential Israeli WBC Team
Sam Fuld Tweeted the other day that it would be a cool experience to play for Team Israel in the WBC. I would love to see Fuld, Braun, Kinsler, Marquis and even the annoying Youkilis repping my homeland! BTW Braun is now the Hebrew Hammer. Shabbat Shalom, Mothaf***as!!!

2011 NBA Off-season Thread
Lockout? What lockout? I was LeBron for Halloween. Well, all the other chicks at the party were slutty something, so I guess I was Slutty LeBron.

AND BILLY
He'll be Billy the Miami now instead of the Billy the Marlin because from what 99 percent of the jerseys indicate this team is the Miamis.

Penn State - Sandusky thread
I absolutely refuse to read that thing. There's zero way I could take it. I'm already dead inside so I just went for it in an effort to get all the facts in an unbiased format. So what is your opinion now that you read it, did it change from before? My opinion remains the same that the "chain of command" at Penn State and the system in general failed these and other children miserably. I gained a greater understanding of Jerry Sandusky and his tactics. He was very consistent with every victim, doing things like touching their leg when they were riding in the front seat of his car to begin to gauge what they would allow him to do. That's just one subtle thing I will note that he did. He's a f***ing monster. The report states Paterno as saying McQueary was very upset when telling him about the rape he witnessed. I still believe McQueary should have called the cops, but you can't change the past. That program is like a cult and that young man was clearly brainwashed. I'm in no way giving him a free pass, but it is what it is. The higher ups mentioned did in fact sweep this under the rug, and that's disgusting. I don't know what Paterno was thinking, but he's been old as f*** for a while. He should have retired 10 years ago. If I was a student at Penn State, I would read the Grand Jury report and then transfer immediately.

I decided to read the full Grand Jury report for myself. I just finished and it just crushed my soul.

Marlins, Reyes agree to 6 yr/106mil deal
I like our chances with Buehrle the most because of the Ozzie factor. If the Marlins were to land Reyes, would you rather convert Hanley to third base or CF? I'd rather have Boni in the hot corner because I cringe every time a ground ball is hit to Hanley. More issues with Reyes -- clash of the divas. Hanley was quoted as saying Reyes is a "pretty good player" or some backhanded compliment like that. And I still haven't forgotten Reyes' stunt on closing day -- taking himself out of the lineup to ensure he wins the batting title. Another "me" guy. But, of course, he will sell. As for Pujols, I'm on Team Gaby. Gaby has done more than prove himself the past two seasons, IMO. And he's our hometown guy. Our David Freese. I also don't see Pujols following orders from Ozzie Guillen. What a weird dynamic. Just my two cents. Go ahead and rip me to shreds.

Welcome, New Members
I'll reintroduce myself. I'm Aimee. I was born in Miami but moved to Tallahassee when I was in Kindergarten. I am a UF alum (c/o '08) and Sarasota resident. I attended my first Marlins game (and MLB game) on a trip back to South Florida in June 1993, and it was love at Charlie Hough's first pitch. I live for baseball. Baseball is my husband. Guys think it's weird that I have this obsession with baseball. I love the new ballpark but I have mixed feelings about the logo and uniforms as well as pandering to the Latino base and seemingly alienating original Marlins fans like myself. But I digress. I used to be a regular on this site but I felt bullied one night when I got home from work late (missed the end of a game) and people berated me because I thought the closer formerly known as Leo Nunez should have thrown more curveballs. Didn't like the negativity. We're all Marlins fans so the bickering annoys me. That being said, it's a new era so I am giving it another go. Please welcome me back with open arms. Glad to have ya back. By the way, you seem like a great writer. Thanks! That might be because I am a writer

Question regarding throwback uniforms
I could definately see us doing something in 2013. Question is do you go 1993 uniforms or 2003 uni's? Dave Magadan, Estrada, Bret barbrie, Connine... Did I get em right? Def would like to see these has the throwback, 2003 unis look to modern, not much differnce from what they wore in 2003 then what they wore last season. OG's! I spoke to Orestes at the Trop back in September and he had a big smile talking about being an original Marlin. He said he wants to go to Opening Day 2012. He wanted to go to Closing Day 2011, but he does Spanish color commentary for the Rays. And that was kind of an epic game.

I was really hoping Pitbull would introduce Jose Reyes the other night. Instead my ears are still bleeding.

Marlins @ Mets Doubleheader Thread
Did anyone notice they edited LoMo out of the new ballpark commercial? The one with JJ. They stopped airing it when he was sent down, and they aired it today with him noticeably out.

LoMo to AAA, Helms Released
I haven't been on here in a year because I dislike Marlins fans arguing with each other and insulting each other. However, I felt compelled to weigh in on the LoMo debacle. I hate what's happening, but I think he's digging himself a deeper hole if he files a grievance against the Marlins. I don't want to see him go, but he needs to grow up a bit here. I just finished a YouTube rant on the matter because I am banging too damn hard on my keyboard to type a full blog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9hVFqKV-Uc

8/19 Postgame
Good for Paulino taking charge at the end. Nunez and his obsession with his changeup.. Because throwing fastballs for leadoff homers is so much better. Nunez has been throwing too many changeups lately and it's been an issue. Can anyone say anything?

8/12 Post Game
cinci just got swept. lets keep the ball rolling and help out the cardinals Is it just me, or do you hate to play teams when they have been playing bad recently? I feel like "Oh god, they're bound to turn it around against us" I feel the same way. Plus we are yet to put together a winning streak beyond four games this year. Wonder who will pitch for Kickin' Cueto on Sunday.

8/11 Post Game
Random thought - Hanley's improved stance still doesn't really resemble that of his early years. I'd like to see him open up a little more. That's just me, though. Anyway, it will be a test of how invested the FO is in improving the team this offseason with how they handle the bullpen situation. It's been on the back burner for years and enough is enough. The position players are pretty much set, so it's time to finally do something about the pen.

8/10 Post Game
I almost voted for Hanley with the three doubles, but then I remembered Uggla's 4 RBI's early on. Hats off to LoMo, who showed great patience tonight. Anibal pitched well, and oh yeah...Mike Stanton. PS I usually only go on the site after wins because I'm too angry to read the posts after a loss.

Brandon Phillips Hates the Cards
Imagine being in the front row with just the backstop separating you from the brawl. Phillips appeared to tap Molina's gear with his bat when stepping into the batters box and that's when it all started. It was quite a scene. Best of the year, IMO.
