What constitutes as a throwback uni exactly?

And would our unis from the 90's be considered 'throwback'? I would like to wear them in the future as throwbacks if we can.

I consider any uniform no longer worn to be throwback personally. I dont really see us doing a Turn Back the Clock night this year. Maybe after we let the new identity set in, then maybe they start going back to throwbacks for a few games.

I wasn't implying that they wear them this year. Just something down the line in a few years.

I know what you were saying, but i was adding on to the conversation. Thats why I answered your question first :D

There has to be some throwback-ness in 2013. It'll be the 20-year anniversary of the franchise and the 10-year anniversary of the '97 World Series.

speaking of throwback...did anyone see the new padres uniforms?

big improvement in my opinion for what i considered some of the ugliest jerseys around. they brought back a real classic look. added piping and got rid of the horrendous gigantic font on the road and alternate jersey.

I could definately see us doing something in 2013. Question is do you go 1993 uniforms or 2003 uni's?

I say we wear those once on the road and then wear the 93 Sleeved homes since we did the vest in 07.

Nice glasses, Orestes.

P,S. I bet 2/3 of the board would have hated those uniforms at first, too.

That florida Road jersey is probably one of my favorite jerseys of all time. ITs gorgous.

You mean the ones that have the real looking Marlin? The one that has the intricate fish/baseball logo on the side sleeve? The one with the original looking font? Yeah... a lot worse than a colored M.

lol cool pic. That huge M on the hat makes it look like it's a superhero costume tho.

Well they are super.

Not me. I loved them.

When I became a Marlins fan in 1993, those uniforms were one of my favorite things about the franchise. However, I do think that the toned down version (black hat, black sleeves) was the best set the team has ever had.

I loved it on the black.

The above ones are cool to me now, but they look a bit like latex gloves.

This is the best the franchise has ever looked:

Ironically, the first thing Loria did when he got here would get rid of that too. Loria is absolutely the best owner the franchise has had and I would definitely take the new stadium over the pre-2003 uniforms, but he has a terrible sense of fashion.

^^^ I agree. However, Loria is an art dealer, so maybe he knows more about artistic tastes than our meager eyes can comprehend.

Teal, orange, black, blue, burgundy...

I want wins.

Being an art dealer has more to do with appraising art or assessing value of art. It has very little to do with "taste." If he were an art critic, artist himself, or someone who has worked in the fashion industry, an appeal to authority might hold more weight.

Yeah, that.

Will probably never see the old Uniforms again thanks to Loria.
