November 8, 201114 yr Jesus... I don't even know where to start on this, but may as well have a thread on it since it's all over the talk shows... Really disgusting the more you hear about what has happened. Why people don't go screaming from the mountaintops when this sort of thing is discovered I have no idea. I don't see how Paterno stays on through this.
November 8, 201114 yr ESPN says that a report says that Paterno's exit is looming, i.e. next few days or few weeks.
November 8, 201114 yr A shame. I love(d) me some JoePa but he did not do enough whatsoever. As much as I hate to say it, he has to go immediately. Did anyone read the actual police reports? Freaking disgusting. Unbelievable that there are people like that in the world.
November 8, 201114 yr http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/uploadedFiles/Press/Sandusky-Grand-Jury-Presentment.pdf Warning.. this is a pretty disturbing document.
November 8, 201114 yr Author JoPa is disappointed that his football press conference has been cancelled today. they really have got to get him away from this.... I mean he's 85 and he just won't have any idea what to do with this. Get him away from the microphones. He probably thinks he did everything he should have.
November 8, 201114 yr JoePa has to talk. He wants to talk and he need to talk in order to at least save some of his legacy, cause his job is gone (he was gonna retire anyway I think)

November 9, 201114 yr Students starting a Penn St chant outside his house is pathetic and disgusting. So unaware.
November 9, 201114 yr He's retiring at the end of the season. He shouldn't even coach the remaining games imo.
November 10, 201114 yr I don't think he should have been fired and I think he did nothing wrong. He did report the incident to Tim Curley and Gary Schultz. They chose to do nothing.
November 10, 201114 yr I don't think he should have been fired and I think he did nothing wrong. He did report the incident to Tim Curley and Gary Schultz. They chose to do nothing. He should have made sure they notified the police. Everyone messed up horribly here.
November 10, 201114 yr I don't think he should have been fired and I think he did nothing wrong. He did report the incident to Tim Curley and Gary Schultz. They chose to do nothing. You don't think he owed any moral responsibility to follow up in any other way? And really no one is his higher-up at that school, except for maybe the President of the university.
November 10, 201114 yr I agree. With Joepa, I think it was more of a moral issue, not a legal issue. He did the right thing by telling his superiors first, but messed up when he decided not to tell the police when they decided to sweep this incident under the rug. I don't know what he was thinking on that one. Still, I don't think he should have been fired. He's done so much for that school, he should have been given the chance to finish it out.

I do, and like I said in my last post, he messed up morally. He should have went to the police after his superiors decided not to. Also, the President of the School and the Athletic Director are his superiors. He reported the incident to them. They are the ones who decided to sweep this under the rug by telling Sandusky to not bring kids to the school anymore.
