  1. So interesting part of this whole thing is that I study Landscape Architecture and Urbam Planning and looked up the company California Smartscapes. They are based out of San Diego. This is shot during Bell's time with the Padres. I have read that he has Pitbulls and that they are illegal to posses by law. He lives in Broward. Wonder what that backyard looks like now after 27 monkeys
  2. Best "Pitch Men" in Marlins History 1. Dan Uggla, and that lovely AC commercial 2. Heath Bell I'm ready to sign Cali Backyards up as soon as I ink my 3/27
  3. I love how "Gaudy" it is, and how other teams, players and fans will come to hate it because it will become synonymus with Stanton bombs.
  4. I'd rather see what Nolasco, Oviedo-Nunez, Sanchez, amd Coghlan before passing judgment of whether to trade them. I woulndt want to include Yleich of anything short of an MVP?Cy Young calinar player/pitcher.
  5. The Herald too worried about selling their own property to Genting Americas so they can build a 3 billion dollar resort casino. I can't tell you how many times I have opened up the Herald to a box score from a HS football game that is completely wrong, or the Florida Panthers current player stats reflecting the names from the roster during from the early 2000's. It's embarresing to me because my Gradnfather worked for the Herald for over 40 years, even working on the sidelines as a phtoographer during the Dolphins '72 campaign. He is long retired andnow is a subscribing to the Sun Sentinel. That should tell you as much as you need to know.
  6. It would be great if Chris Coghlan ever decided to come out of retirement and play like he did in '09. Maybe then we could put him in LF, move LoMo to first, and send Gaby off in a package for a nice peice in the rotation. YES, I KNOW the A's don't want him... off-topic, and I'm going to have to look this up, but when's the last time a ROY dropped off the face of the earth like Coghlan has? I mean do we even figure he'll be on the big squad to start the season? It's just really odd. Hopefully he finds his way back into the mix here and putting some injuries aside will get him back on track. Hideo Nomo?
  7. Now, who the hell knows where payroll is going to wind up. I picture it like a game of Plinko from the Price is Right, and Jeffery Loria is standing high above and dropping down coins and landing them into various "free-agents"...Bell, Reyes....I'm thinking he has another 2-3 coins
  8. I am a long time reader of this blog, but relatively new time poster. I always remember enjoying MarlinsLou breaking down the $$$numbers when it came down to the team payroll. I would love to see MarlinsLou payroll breakdown of the projected 2012 opening day roster. Who can we fit? If we don't land Pujols, does that mean we are willing to use another $150-200 million in Free Agency this year?
  9. Mike Stanton, like the Great Wall of China, can be seen from outer space. The Great Wall, actually, can not be seen in space. The Pyramids of Gyza, however, can. Damn lol well at least Stanton is now being compared to something of more mathematical excellence. I wish I was an astronaut. Que David Bowie??
  10. Mike Stanton, like the Great Wall of China, can be seen from outer space.
  11. This was about depth, and if he has a great spring training (though I doubt he will) then you let him possibly spot start a few times as the #5, use him in the pen as long relief/lefty, or send him down. Classic low risk move. Hopefully he channels his inner Sandy K sometime this winter. We got more for Baker than we did for Andrew "what is a strike?" Miller.
  12. Will miss Bake, but with Bucks contract and the emergence of Hayes as decent backup there was no reason to keep him on this team, especially after the surgery. I am happy with obtaining a former 2nd round pick who is 27 years old...and a lefty. BTW LeBlanc walked 28 guys in ~80 innings last year....I like guys who can throw strikes, and so does the Marlins organization
  13. The most likely scenario, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, has Miami signing one pitcher in free agency and trading for another. Frisaro pointed out that Miami "covets" James Shields of the Tampa Bay Rays and Gio Gonzalez of the Oakland A's. [...] Regardless, Gonzalez would still require a strong package, including at least one young power bat, which has been a weakness on the Athletics' roster. Marlins' left fielder Logan Morrison may fit that mold, but there are indications that Morrison is not going to be shopped this winter. - http://insider.espn....features/rumors A young, meat of the lineup, left-handed bat is nice to have - considering Logan hasn't reached his prime yet. I'd hate to see him blossom in another uniform. That being said, I believe the Marlins have plenty to offer. Considering they are willing to fill holes through free agency and trades, why not sell high on some of these prospects, packaged with Major League players w/ base salary control. Given the A's history, they would want a lot of club controlled young players in return, generally arms. Here is what I think we have to offer: Arms: Ceda BHand Volstad Nolasco (too much $ for Oakland) Koehler Sanabia West Oviedo The remainder of our Farm Dangle Cogs and Dominguez, possibly a few more players - Peterson, Skipworth (classic low risk, high reward), Wes Helms ghost You think a combination of any of those 4/5 would get a deal done to bring Gio back to SoFla? Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see... Had it coming sooner or later lol

  15. For that kind of money I'll take my chances with Bonifacio... I second that
  16. First time poster, LOOONG time reader. Finally worked up the testicle fortitude and decided that I wanted to voice some of my opinions, ideas, memories, and expose everyone to my horrible grimmer and spelling. I've been a fish fan through the highs and the lows - remember those days when our rotation was filled out with Jesus Tavarez and the "Ace" Chuck Smith? haha Fun Facts: Favorite all-time Marlin is Miggy (RIP), and not far behind is Chuck Johnson, JJ, and Hanley 25 y/o in Pembroke Pines I like the new Uni's I believe our ideal, "Plan A" off-season would include Cespedes, Reyes, Pujols, Buehrle, Madson, and a trade for either Shields/Gio Look forward to interacted/getting blasted on the board! lol GO FISH!!!!
