Does anyone else get the sense the Marlins aren't serious?

Featured Replies

They offered Pujols less than $200 million. When you consider A-Rod is in the middle of a 10 year, $275 million contract that was signed in 2007, it's hard to take this offer seriously.

As for Reyes, it's possible things still might work out and I hope they do, but I'm sure other teams that need him worse than we do will come up with more than $90 million over six years.

I also question the timing: reports that the Marlins were interested in Pujols and Reyes coincided with the new logo and uniforms announcement. There are other teams interested in Pujols and Reyes, and yet the Marlins were the only team that seemed to tip their hand this early in the offseason.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like Loria is more fascinated with the idea of having his team associated with these big names in media reports than actually signing them.

Has anyone significant really signed anywhere besides Papelbon?

Not everyone signs as early as Thanksgiving. Patience, people. Go watch some hockey.

Does MARLIN BURGER have more than 1 account?

but i can say that with the trade of baker for LeBlanc tells me we are not goin to sign berley or geting gio

Who is berley?

Who is berley?

I think he means barley. Clearly, the Marlins are not making their delicious vegetable barley soup for this year's holiday party. Broncobob is going to be so disappointed!

Or Charles Barkley. Most likely Charles Barkley.
