Iowa
The Marlins have traded catcher John Baker to the Padres for left-hander Wade LeBlanc, according to a press release from the Padres.

canada-marlin24
wow kind of weird. brett hayes must be happy. gonna miss him but its sad because he was a very good catcher with a good bat. if he gets back to what he used to do they will love him. at least hes a california guy. canada-marlin24
could just be for depth.
AeroFishOne
Everytime I get a current players jersy they end up traded. Uggla,Maybin , Cantu and now Baker. Hopefully same doesnt continue on with my Coghlan and Johnson jerseys.
Dr Beinfest
could just be for depth. Genuinely looks to me like they intend upon in more than one way acquiring some bats (preferably through free agency). The roster seems to be somewhat of a mess right now. I can't imagine they'd be willing to go through with what they've got with the batting lineup and the bench. Perhaps that's a good sign though. PurpleHaze
Either Baker or Hayes had to go. I don't know how the Marlins plan to use LeBlanc, but I sure hope I don't see him and his career 4.54 ERA in the rotation.

Threatened by what? Baker watching him from the stands? threatened by the fact that before baker go hurt his numbers were a lot better than bucks? he could hit for a decent average and get on base which buck cant seem to do. Zero
He has a career 2.96 ERA at home which is a pitchers ballpark. Our new ballpark is also supposed to be a pitchers ballpark so just don't use him in away games and he should be fine.

floridafly
I liked Baker. Don't really care for who we got back, but it wasn't like I was expecting Baker to be a package for Gio.
