November 23, 201114 yr Our old buddy Pinto. I miss those days about as much as I miss a sexual transmitted disease. Hey, hey, he ... he got that guy out that one time ... Then he gave up a 3 run homer but still!

November 23, 201114 yr hey guys i just witnessed an accident....they always freak out when you leave the scene of an accident you know.
November 23, 201114 yr Hey loved Bake, but his time here was soooooo over. You could see that. Guy was a great talker, and I expect to see him in a TV booth in a few years. He will do much better there than in a uniform.
November 23, 201114 yr I'd much rather have LeBlanc at the end of the rotation than Volstad, at least one is a lefty. Well he's got style. I'll give him that.

He will do much better there than in a uniform. What do you mean his time was over. The guy has only been up since 2008 and spent most of 2010-2011 with tommy John. He didn't get a real chance to come back and play here afte the surgery. He had good numbers in 08 and 09. The guys thirty but he may have a few more years in him as a backup. Oh and he only had 13 major league at bats in 2011.

November 23, 201114 yr Author Not worried that no big moves have happened yet... In 1996, Marlins didn't sign Moises Alou and Alex Fernandez until Mid December going into '97 season
November 23, 201114 yr nobody recognized my quote? I wish there was a smiley that simulated the thought, "went right over my head".
November 23, 201114 yr that picture up there is Renyel Pinto. no one has pointed that out. :confused Either sarcasm or doesn't read.
November 23, 201114 yr LET'S FREAK OUT BECAUSE THE MARLINS TRADED JOHN BAKER. OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. im not freakin about baker he sucked anyways exxxcccccuuuuusssseeeeeee mmmmmmeeeeeeee????? He is a god among men.
November 23, 201114 yr LET'S FREAK OUT BECAUSE THE MARLINS TRADED JOHN BAKER. OH MY GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Lolololol Hey Hey Hayes is happy.
November 23, 201114 yr Giving up Baker for a southpaw = Good move! I think we will end up winning this trade, but I wish the best for Baker!
November 23, 201114 yr Will miss Bake, but with Bucks contract and the emergence of Hayes as decent backup there was no reason to keep him on this team, especially after the surgery. I am happy with obtaining a former 2nd round pick who is 27 years old...and a lefty. BTW LeBlanc walked 28 guys in ~80 innings last year....I like guys who can throw strikes, and so does the Marlins organization
November 23, 201114 yr Baker has played what 20 - 30 games in the last two seasons? plus he can't throw for his life ... this is a good trade, at least we got something for Baker albeit not the best return, i'd still take my chances with a spot starter / possible back of the rotation starter who has options left.
November 23, 201114 yr I'd much rather have LeBlanc at the end of the rotation than Volstad, at least one is a lefty. I'm left-handed.
November 23, 201114 yr I'd much rather have LeBlanc at the end of the rotation than Volstad, at least one is a lefty. I'm left-handed. But can you throw a baseball with any accuracy?
November 23, 201114 yr I'd much rather have LeBlanc at the end of the rotation than Volstad, at least one is a lefty. I'm left-handed. But can you throw a baseball with any accuracy? That wasn't my point. My point was that LeBlanc sucks just as much, if not more, than Volstad. The hand he throws with is absolutely irrelevant. Nate Robertson was left-handed, as well. Who cares? LeBlanc better be depth, period.
November 23, 201114 yr and that's all he is ... depth he doesn't have a guaranteed spot, he has even admitted to that ... he didn't have a guarantee with the Padres, just like he will not have a guaranteed spot for the Marlins.

November 23, 201114 yr This was about depth, and if he has a great spring training (though I doubt he will) then you let him possibly spot start a few times as the #5, use him in the pen as long relief/lefty, or send him down. Classic low risk move. Hopefully he channels his inner Sandy K sometime this winter. We got more for Baker than we did for Andrew "what is a strike?" Miller.
