Remember games where Pierre and Castillo didnt get on base - we had real bad offensive performances. Castillo has played well but Pierre needs to get on so that Migs can drive him and Luis home. Those 2 are the catalysts to our offense and it shows you how good are pitching is when we still win w/o Pierre being on top of his game. This is obvious. Lead-off guys need to get hits. JP isn't doing that and hasn't. He's 1 for his last 14.

Marrero had one good year and while he does have pop, no one expects him to get homers. He not in for that. He's probably gonna end the year with 2 Homers. Oh well, if they're in the batters box, they're capable of anything.

Exactly. It's something I hate about bandwagoners. We're pretty much gonna have to sweep every series to get some fans. People don't understand that teams are gonna lose games. I disagree, the crowds for Benitez's saves have been just around as much as the Mets had when he was closing for them, maybe bigger. We also make ALOT more noise per fan than almost any other team in the bigs. The difference is that our 30,000 is alot more supportive and tolerant than their 30,000. We will boo, but you have to mess up a couple times before to earn the boos. And if you start performing well again, we'll stop. When we get up and clap, we'll keep clapping until you get the out. We aren't here to tear people apart. Exactly. Look at Looper. Even though he was crap for us sometimes, we still loved him and he was huge when it mattered.

If the Yankees were 8-1, ESPN wouldn't stop talking about it. If the Red Sox are 8-1, ESPN would probably be interviewing Kevin Millar about the great start and the interview would be 85% of Millar saying 'Cowboy Up.' If the Cubs start off 8-1, the pitching staff is terrific, they don't even have Mark Prior and they're 8-1! If the Phillies go 8-1, they're off-season pick-ups were great and Admin Bowa is manager of the year. If the Tigers start 8-1, Pudge is automatically the factor and the MArlins are crazy for letting him go. If the A's start off 8-1, ESPN talks about how GODLY their pitching is. If the Orioles start off 8-1, ESPN talks about how the three guys they picked up will help and the great job their no-name pitching staff has done. If the Braves start off 8-1, it's amazing because they lost 115 homers and 397 RBI's. If the Angels start 8-1, Vladimir Guerrero is the difference maker and baseball is back in Anaheim. Yet... The Fish start off 8-1, they still get no respect, no one talks about them, and despite the fact that they actually ARE 8-1, they're still being talked about like they're a bunch of no ones who haven't ever won crap. I think the Fish would get more attention if they were 1-8.

If this is true, Nunez should just keep his mouth shut. First of all, he lied about his age and he's STILL on our team. That shows how much we want him. Second of all, he hasn't proved anything yet to be talking this crap. I could understand if he's unhappy but can't he keep his mouth shut? My guess is he wants to be traded and prove himself elsewhere. I'm gonna laugh when we trade him and he goes on to hit 2 homers with a below .200 batting average. This is called player development and if he hadn't lied about his age, maybe he would be starting for a major league team already.
