Florida For College Playoff
My only gripe with the playoff system with more than 4 teams is that its going to make the season not matter as much. If there was 6 or 8 teams the OSU- Michigan game would have meant nothing this year. Both teams would have already been in the playoffs, they would have played all their second string players and thats not what people pay to see in college games. The OSU-Michigan game this year was the exception, not the rule. With only the conference champ guaranteed to go in, it makes conference games that much more important. Could you get in with a couple of losses? Sure. But you're going to have to be real lucky. I would hate that. Every year at least one mediocre champion (i.e. Wake Forest winning the ACC) that doesnt deserve a spot would get in over a great runner up (like Michigan this past season) Honestly, I dont care if the college football regular season would lose luster because of this. If anything, itll make things more exciting because more teams will be involved, make the excitement level grow during the playoffs and ending with a champion that theres less debate over. I love college football as it is now, but when teams feel they get cheated out of a title shot, that just leaves everyone with a sour taste in their mouths. Whats so great about that?

UM/Dolphin Stadium Article
So the Marlins are sitting there with a 30-60 mil funding gap and the city has $200 mil sitting on the table to renovate the OB. Meanwhile the Hurricanes have a couple of options on where to play. While Marlins have nowhere to call home after 2010. That's nice.... So if the Canes goto DS can the Marlisn get some of that $200 mil that would have gone to renovating the OB? Especially since the OB would be USELESS if the Canes left. pretty much yep the city of miami would be foolish to leave the canes homeless. that's why the city must wait until the canes decide to move on. No, the city would be truly foolish to actually go through with the $200 million renovations in order to keep 6 Canes games instead of putting that money into the new stadium. If The U doesnt want to stay there without said renovations, then the city might as well make them homeless sooner rather than later Where did I say that the City should spent the 200Million? Well, im not saying you said that, but The U would only stay at the asylum if the money was spent.

OSU-Michigan, the greatest rivalry in college football for the Big Ten title and the #1 spot...no way theyre taking the game lightly and putting in the scrubs. Also, if the playoff features teams playing on campus instead of neutral sites, then home field would be up for grabs, so of course the game would still be huge

Met fans
If any opposing fans are annoying you, just remind them weve won 2 titles in the last 10 years and they havent (save for the Skanks). Always shuts them up.

2007 NBA Draft
Not that they're in the lottery or anything, but I'm hoping the Heat can find a way to get Acie Law. Good luck with that. I've seen him slotted like 15 or 16 in most mocks. Actually, nbadraft.net has him at #17 right now...and the Heat pick at #20. So, is it really that unrealistic? I read a rumor somewhere that the Heat were interested...they really need a PG, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were to give up like a 1st rounder in 2010 or something to move up 4 or 5 spots. If they want him, they can get him without too much trouble. nbadraft.net has the Heat taking Josh McRoberts. I don't know how I'd feel about that. Oh God, please no...

UM/Dolphin Stadium Article
How about using that 200 million to turn the Orange Bowl into Marlins Stadium. It would also save Loria alot of Money. Or tear down the Orange Bowl and put the new stadium on that land instead of renovating it I wish the OB could last forever, but I know thats not possible, and pumping 200 million into it for just 6-7 Canes games, maybe a future mediocre bowl game and a few soccer games just doesnt make any economic sense. As much as I love the Insane Asylum on 7th street, its just time to move on and give the Marlins a new home

Quinnipiac University pulls plug on "May Weekend"
When someone dies, a sexual assault, and there are over a dozen arrests in a weekend the university is going to have to do something. I'm not really surprised that the university didn't consult the students because honestly what do you think the poll would look like? Now there are probably other options the university can take and probably should have done rather than piss off an entire student body. My school has had a pretty rough semester when it comes to alcohol and basically what they've done is have more police and ALE around. And it definitely has cut down on the amount of big parties. Every semester we have a huge party at my place which is usually can reach 200-300 people, but didn't this semester because of the tighter policing. Hell just last night (reading day eve) there were 3 checkpoints within a mile of each other. Granted there still is a ton of underage drinking, but this would probably have been a better solution for Quinnipiac. Wow thats pretty extreme, I guess UNC DPS and Chapel Hill police are really lax compared to Elon. The most thats been done here is police at the end of Frat Court to catch people drinking as they leave parties and a few cops on main campus to catch public urination, vandalism of university property, etc. Hell cops showed up to only 1 party I went to all year, and they left without telling people to leave.

Curt Schilling Should Shut Up: Part 1,000,000
Thats not David Ortiz. It says, plain as day, David Arias. Ortiz plays 1B and DH. David Arias is a 1B and OF. Outfield?? Ouch. No, that definitely is David Ortiz. Arias is his mothers last name.

Name Change Petiton
Fish draw more evenly (closer to the population distribution in the market) than either the HEAT or Panthers. The divisions those 2 other teams created hurt. The HEAT by going Miami > Broward and the Panthers by Broward > Miami. There is no reason for the Fish to do such a thing. Id say that has everything to do with the fact that the Marlins play on the county line and nothing to do with them being the Florida Marlins Personally, Id rather be them be the Miami Marlins, but thats just because Im from there and I dont really care for any part of Florida outside the 305. But in the end, I dont give a damn what theyre called. As long as theyre playing somewhere near Downtown Miami I'll be happy
