  1. in what hotel are they going to take place?
  2. I didnt know Dave o Brien was with the Mets.
  3. The ones responsible for her death are the barbarian fans of Boston. If they could just learn how to party safely, the police wouldnt feel the need to use excessive force such as shooting projectiles in the crowd. Every time the NE area wins something, Boston fans go wild and loot the city, turing over cars, lighting fires, etc. They are the worse when it comes to celebrating. Remember during last years Marlins celebration nothing big really happened. Just a couple of people arrested for intoxication and that was about it.
  4. Commissioner takes `full responsibility' By Tom Farmer Friday, October 22, 2004 Boston officials claimed ``full responsibility'' for the death of an Emerson College student who was killed by a police projectile after the Red Sox' pennant-clinching victory early yesterday while vowing to bring to justice the hooligans who turned a joyous celebration into a tragic free-for-all. ``The Boston Police Department accepts full responsibility for the death of Victoria Snelgrove, an Emerson College student who would have turned 22 next week,'' said a somber Commissioner Kathleen O'Toole. ``I met with her parents (yesterday) afternoon, and as I am sure you understand, there are no words to describe their grief.'' Snelgrove was struck in the left eye by a projectile containing pepper spray that was fired by police trying to quell rioting on Lansdowne Street after the Red Sox beat the New York Yankees to clinch the American League pennant. Because the death was caused by a police officer, it is being investigated by the Suffolk district attorney. ``The young woman last night met a very untimely death and as the commissioner said, we as a city, as mayor of the city, as police commissioner, we will take responsibility for what happened but we will also move on the hoodlums who were out on the street of our city last night,'' said a somber Mayor Thomas M. Menino. O'Toole said at least two officers involved in the incident that killed Snelgrove have been placed on injured leave. Sources said the department has subpoenaed all TV coverage of the post-game rioting with the intent of identifying as many people as possible who committed criminal acts. Seven people who were arrested during the unrest were arraigned yesterday in Roxbury District Court. ``While I firmly and emphatically accept responsibility for any errors on the part of the BPD, and commit to a thorough and swift investigation of our actions, I also condemn in the harshest possible words the actions of the punks last night who turned our city's victory into an opportunity for violence, mindless destruction and pointless mayhem,'' O'Toole said. ``By creating a scene of public panic and disorder, these people own a portion of the responsibility for Torie's death. We will hold them responsible for those actions to the fullest extent of the law.'' Snelgrove's father, Richard, lashed out at Boston police, saying his daughter was an ``exceptional'' person, and noting she was a bystander but ``still got shot.'' Menino said city officials met with representatives from Boston's colleges yesterday and requested they come up with more effective means to control their students. O'Toole said that while the department was not prepared for rioting after the New England Patriots' Super Bowl victory in February in which a West Newbury man was killed, the BPD, working with state, MBTA and college police, mobilized a force on par with that which took to the streets for the Democratic National Convention. ``But for this horrible tragedy and some property damage in Kenmore Sqaure, I have to say that Boston police used great restraint,'' she said. The first hour after the Sox victory was relatively peaceful but when hooligans began setting fires and trying to climb into Fenway Park, commanders decided to move in to quell the disturbance. O'Toole said she was unsure who gave orders to use the air guns that fire projectiles containing the Mace-like chemical that struck Snelgrove.
  5. I received an invite for a Season Ticket Holders Heat Scrimmage on Oct 24 at 12:30. I cant go so if anyone wants it, post your e-mail here and e-mail me at miamisalsero@yahoo.com . First one to post gets it.
  6. I just downloaded this little browser and its awesome - faster than IE, and with less security flaws. It also has better feautres such as abiltity to search on google right from the browser itself. Dont take my word for it - read the feedbacks left by other people for yourself. Here is the description page where CNET gave it 5 of 5 stars http://www.download.com/Mozilla-Firefox/30...tml?tag=lst-0-1 Here is feedback from other people: http://www.download.com/3302-2356_4-10318752.html
  7. NBC owns PAX. Since reg NBC programming is being pre-empted by Jeanne coverage, NBC is using PAX to satisfy NBC's sponsors.
  8. If interested, email me at miamisalsero@yahoo.com
  9. If anyone knows how to get a hold of Juanky tell him that im giving him my tickets for todays game and that he needs to call me at my phone number that I e-mailed him asap. Thanks.
  10. But their attitude was best articulated by baby-faced assassin Miguel Cabrera this spring: ''I only fear death and nothing else,'' he said. ``You can't do anything with fear. You have to be tranquil and believe.'' Asked about facing the likes of Roger Clemens and Kerry Wood and Jason Schmidt, he says, ``They only have a ball. I have a bat.'' From the Herald I know this article was already posted but i think this would be the perfect nickname for Miguelito. Just look at the confidence he has reading his remarks it does remind me of how an assasin would look at things. What you guys think?
  11. He has started in the past though so Ben should be considered. Put someone that has some experience starting and Ben and Kensing are the deal.
  12. For those who didnt get season tickets, the Heat are offering 2 minplans packages: 10 games for $199 & 20 games for $399. http://www.nba.com/heat/tickets/miniplans0405.html
  13. I will think its Kensing since he only threw 12 pitches so this might of been his bullpen day in between starts. Another possiblilty that no ones brought up is Ben Howard. When he was in SD, he was a starter so he might be better qualified than some other guys in the pen.
  14. By TheMothman "This was another stupid move by jack" Im sorry dude but that isnt fair. He is one of the reasons we won the WS last year. We dont have too much in the pen so he has to go with what he has.
  15. Damn it is true. Last night at MLB.com i saw a headline starting w/ "Burnett" and i didnt click on it since i hadnt seen anything on marlinsbaseball.com. This sucks.
  16. This guy shouldnt be in the big leagues and is overwhelmed. Give him a break.
  17. Just heard on FSN FLorida. They are hoping that they are able to play Wednesday in Miami and play a double header.
  18. The Dolphins-Titans game has been moved from Sunday at 1pm to Saturday at 1pm due to threat of Ivan. Officials were concerned that Police and emergency personel wouldnt be available Sunday if theres a Hurricane Warning issued in SFL. From the looking at the current Hurr Ivan model, it looks like it will be getting here Sunday night to Monday morning.
  19. B/C im hungry and want to get good food at a decent price and not junk food at a bloated price. Also the stadium is about 30 minutes away so its not convenient to go at this moment.
  20. I've called all the major sports bars - Flannigans, Hooligans, Duffys Tavern and non are getting it in. They saw they have MLB Extra Innngs but that its blacked out. I didnt know that MLB blacked out games the same way football blrcks out games. I use to go to my friends house that had a fixed DirecTV card and would watch games there when they werent on local TV but thats not possible anymore.
  21. Baseball America is the best for current year (ex: 2004 only) stats Sports-Wired.com is good for past stat info (ex: 2003 and before)
  22. Thats true. They can bring up players like Dillon and Wilson from AAA and give some players needed rest during this stretch.
  23. I hope we can win 3 out of 4 up there so they wipe themselves with their "home field advantage".
