Pavano is playing himself out of Florida!!!!!

Can we burn this bridge once we get there? No need to worry about this now.

well the reason why we might want to deal with this now is because later on when he hopefully continues to pitch well, more teams are going to want him and they might offer him more money than us so we could lose him

thats why we might want to work out a deal with him now

I really hope that the FO can surprise everyone and keep Penny and Pavano, therefor this rotation can stay together and take their place in baseball history.

let beinfest worry. why are you guys not able to stop playing GM for one night and enjoy the win.

c'mon cape that's what this message board is for.

c'mon cape that's what this message board is for. whats funny is that the job really only belongs to one person and yet all of us want to do it and try to do it for him...

Pavano and Penny are not going anywhere...chill out guys.

^^sigh of relief^^

^^will sleep soundly tonight^^

I think he may be as good as gone. The man could be a #2 on a lot of teams out there, and possibly a #1 on some teams and he could get paid in that manner. I love Pavano, and I love our team, but with our payroll, I do not see ihm satying :(

and you guys think pavs doesn't realize that the longer he waits, the higher he can demand?

wow.

no because what if he faulters? then he will LOOSE money.

Vales mas pajaro en mano que cientos volandos

My gut feeling is that Pavano will stay here.

A) Teams are extremely reluctant now a day to give a young somewhat unproven arm a big deal.

B) He won a world championship here.

C) The franchise was loyal to him; he will be loyal to the franchise.

I agree with number 3 100%. Any team that wanted him could have made an offer to the Expos, but they didn't. Even with all his injury problems and the fact that he never had a good season, the Fish gave him a chance and he's turned into the best number 5 starter of all of baseball. Some teams don't even have a number 5 guy. The White Sox have yet to have a number 5 starter win a game. On many other teams, Pavano could easily be the number 2 or maybe even the ace. If he looks at any team in the offseason, I'm sure the Fish will be number 1 on his list.

Calling him our #5 is a technicality. Because he could have been anywhere else on our rotation. And by the way they play and their conssitency pavs should be 2 or 3, but regardless 1-5 we arguably have the best rotation in baseball. The main quesiton marks are 1. becketts blisters, 2. burnetts recovery 3. willis's consistency

Don't hold your expectations too high. Pavano, Lowell, Conine, etc may not be in our team next year. No Stadium, no money, no deals.

i dont really follow the books but we need to keep this guy....if he keeps pitching the way he and goes to the all-star game of course he's going to want a nice contract cause he's young and he gonna want some security...i hope he stays loyal but i also hope that the marlins dont offer i stupid contract we must keep this rotation intact for the future of this franchise..

Pavano has proven already what he can do when he is on his game but i think pavano will stay with the Marlins. Loria said he was going to keep our starting pitching. Lets see if he keeps his words.

i really hope he does cause i see this rotation being even better than the old braves rotation...

i love the rotation we got and all of our pitchers are young and have real good stuff and all seem to have bright futures.

if we can keep them we will be in the playoffs every year.

and it was stupid of me to doubt pavano.....i haven't really liked him but since late april i have really gotten to like him.

i hope i see the same rotation for years.

Isnt the stadium situation looking good for us? I thought we were going to start construction and 'hope' for the state funds next year
