Brad Penny

Featured Replies

Dawg, tell Brad that Marlins' fans except Cape wish him well and hope he returns to the form he had before the injury.

Cape, ah forget it you are impossible.

Sabitha had the same thing last year and only missed one start. 503144[/snapback]

Must be a fat guy's injury. Hank Goldberg better be careful!

The Dodgers received good news Monday on the status of recently acquired right-hander Brad Penny.

Penny is expected to miss only one start after undergoing an MRI on Monday that revealed a stretched nerve in his right biceps, Peter Gammons reports. Penny flew to Cincinnati to join the Dodgers as they prepare to open a three-game series Tuesday against the Reds.

Penny, who was examined by Dr. Frank Jobe in Los Angeles, was injured while delivering a pitch in the first inning of Sunday's start against Philadelphia. He left after trying to throw a warmup that left him writhing in pain.

"The doctors told me that the nerve got stretched and that's what caused the pain," Penny said. "C.C. Sabathia had the same thing happen to him. I have to say I am very relieved."

So Dr. Capefish, tell me how Penny's conditioning program has any effect on a stretched nerve. I can't wait for your reply. You were WRONG! If you were half the man you attempt to be on this site, you'll apologize to Penny for being WRONG in your absurd claims. :whistle

Good to hear Brad will be back soon

damn, i wanted him out for the year

I find it funny how you guys can say I wasn't right by saying it was because of him having overlooked conditioning when it was a nerve strain injury suffered by another pitcher who also doesn't do a damn thing to condition his arm.

If I didn't know the statements behind those comments I'd be flaming you nasty style right now

But it's acceptable in this case :confused

Thanks for the good wishes guys, we are sure happy tonight!!!! Just thought I would give you a little fyi, (especially the ones that think Brad has had all kinds of arm problems, shoulder, elbow, whatever.) They did the mri on his shoulder, elbow and bicep, all checked out 100%. No problems anywhere. And Cape, I would like to know if you follow Brad to the stadium and see just exactly what he does or doesnt do as far as working out? I know for a fact he works him arm, he doesnt throw a side if that is what you are referring to, and have you seen the size of his thighs???? They are huge, and solid as a rock, you dont get those from not working. Power for pitchers come from their legs. You really need to talk about something you might know about, maybe you wouldnt be getting blasted all the time.

**********************BREAKING NEWS****************************

AP

Babe Ruth has been removed from the Hall of Fame. Commissioner Selig was quoted as saying, "We can't have fatasses like that representing our game. Without proper conditioning, players cannot perform at their optimal level. We do not want players with a gut to represent our game to the youth of America. Players cannot be fit enough to perform their position unless they have a 6-pack stomach. I'm doing this for the kids America, for the kids."

Commissioner Selig is starting a commission to investigate which other players in the Hall of Fame had more than 5% body fat. They will be removed immediately. Commissioner Selig is proud that this will be his legacy as commissioner. "Lord knows I've made some mistakes, but this will erase all that. Players like Babe Ruth are a disgrace to the game because they don't have the 'work ethic' that the kids need to see. I'd like to personally thank Dr. Capefish for setting me straight. It is impossible for a player to have a proper conditioning program for any position on the diamond unless that player is down to at least 5% body fat. America and baseball thank you, Dr. Capefish."

I was actually worried when i heard the news, cause i root for all former marlins...it was hard to do last october in the cubs series..

actually it wasn't hard at all.

I hope penny come out 100% and wins all of his next starts.

try not to comment on health or baseball stuff too much...you don't want to look foolish.

stick to meteorology, radio station call letters, or other obscure things so no one can tell when you're just pulling stuff out of your rear.
