DTrainFan
good outing by Weathers :thumbup
mafatumatt
if only we'd used him instead of bump our fortunes may have been slightly different... but then again, had we not been slaughtered by the pirates and expos in the second half... still gotta believe though. we arent mathematically eliminated yet. ArwenWatson
Maybe McKeon will think about Weathers more now because of this good outing
fishywishy
Maybe we just needed a veteran to get it done. Hopefully this isnt a Phelps-like tease....

Guest Juanky
I love how everyone comes out of the closet to cheer him on now. In other news, he could be a cheaper version of Seanez for next season if we keep him on. He's been solid the past few years and I wouldn't mind him as part of the dream amazing bullpen would could have next season.
Guest Moneyball
if you would have told me david weathers would have a better performance than pavano i would have strangled you right on the spot.
whitesoxfan
This guy looked awesome. Very good performance by Weathers.
PBMarlin
I expected Weathers to do much better than Small, so kudos to Jack for making the switch....and nice job David for a superb performance.
phoenix
It was too bad that Jack didn't leave him in for another inning or two. We got the win, and that's what matters in the end but I didn't need the heart palpitations inbetween.....

Accord
He was on fire today and did an amazing job, not to mention the fact that this was his first start since 1998. If Valdez doesn't come back next year, he could actually become a pretty reliable 5th starter for us.
dupontflames
i knew chip caray was jinxing his own team when he wouldn't shut up about how terrible weathers would probably be and how the cubs were most likely going to sweep. that guy is pretty obnoxious. now i can see why the fans and players dislike him so much. those wgn clowns are sickeningly biased to the point of being unrealistic. Hotcorner
we'll be left wondering what might have happened, had Weathers started instead of Kensing in the other 2 starts. actually I would've preferred a veteran, even a mediocre reliever like Weathers, starting over a kid thrown into the fire.... but who could've seen that coming from Weathers?! wow. orisha
many moons ago weathers was a very respectable starter for the marlins. then he was traded to new york and his career as a starter pretty much ended.

I then told him that our announcers actually know English and Len and Tommy try to do the word of the day thing in most games.
Iowa
Steve Stone knows his baseball. Chip Caray, on the other, is a moron.
