December 11, 200421 yr Stark Now that the Marlins have been told they're out of the running for Carl Pavano, they're shopping for another starter. One guy they're pursuing aggressively: Odalis Perez. What do you think?
December 11, 200421 yr 3 lefties in one rotation would be strange but he is a pretty good pitcher so I would definitely be ok with it
December 11, 200421 yr If we do get another solid pitcher I think Beinfest should seriously pursue trading AJ or Josh and packaging Enc to get a power hitter for the middle of the lineup. (Dunn)
December 11, 200421 yr With all this talk about getting another starter and another reliever or two it sounds like we will spend exactly $0 on the offensive side of the ball, at least money on an everyday player. Looks like Encarnacion and Conie will be starting 120-140 games each.

(Dunn) 632431 who says the red are even willing to trade Dunn? 632435 Because the A's and Reds were talking about a Hudson for Dunn sort of thing from what I read. So people seem to think Dunn is expendable. Also during last year a similar rumor Josh for Dunn was around, I thought the Marlins should have done it then but they obviously didn't. The Reds are desperate for pitching, and they also have Kearns, so you trade from your strength to get what you need.

(Dunn) 632431 who says the red are even willing to trade Dunn? 632435 There's already been a couple of rumors about the marlins discussing a trade with the reds involving Dunn for Beckett or Burnett.
December 11, 200421 yr guys dont forget to watch the hot stove report on ESPN. its good stuff. i feel like a woman getting excited about all the rumors and gossip... i dont really feel like a woman.
December 11, 200421 yr Umm... I just realized... Perez was offered arbitration by the Dodgers and I haven't seen where he might of said he turned it down, so how are we discussing with him? 632434 so? pavano was offered arbitration too and he can negotiate with other teams same applies to Odalis.
December 11, 200421 yr If we do get another solid pitcher I think Beinfest should seriously pursue trading AJ or Josh and packaging Enc to get a power hitter for the middle of the lineup. (Dunn) 632431 Bingo! Acquire Odalis Perez and deal Burnett in a deal for Dunn.

He hasn't won me over yet.
December 11, 200421 yr yea, but i dont to just get Dunn in return the Reds should gives something else to go along with Dunn
December 11, 200421 yr yea, but i dont to just get Dunn in return the Reds should gives something else to go along with Dunn 632460 If anything we should have to give more. Dunn is a 50 HR hitter, why the hell would they have to give more? Josh is barely a .500 career pitcher with a chronic blister problem who outsde of October 2003 has only shown a bit of being a lights out pitcher. And AJ is already 30, I think, so he is in his prime now and still recovering from arm surgery and he is a solid ace. But Dunn is a stud.

December 11, 200421 yr AJ is 27, has thrown a no-hitter, and has led the legue in shutouts, and Dunn is a strikeout machine
December 11, 200421 yr yea if we get odalis we should trade AJ or Josh because odalis is better than both of them.. :plain
