Dontrelle Willis, he's the only guy in the rotation from last year that doesn't whine to the media an have constant injury and cockiness problem. He deserves it.

Agreed, plus since we will like have more lefties than righties it seems we should start with a lefty to alternate between the pitchers.

Dontelle is not quite ready to be the Ace of the staff.

I would go with the following rotation:

AJ, Leiter, Beckett, Dontrelle, ???

What has AJ done to deserve to be the Opening Day starter?

Beckett will be the Opening Day starter

The only qualification is to be the best pitcher on the staff. AJ showed in the 2nd half that he has the best stuff and is most consistent.

Beckett still has periods where he gets shelled, or gives up the big hit in key situations.

Is it me, or is there a debate about this every other week??

Anyway, my vote is for A.J.. He's shown more consistency in the regular season. Everyone is still riding Beckett's post season wave... A.J has proven himself over a full season already. In 2002, he had 7 complete games and 5 shutouts. Beckett has shown flashes of brilliance. I won't deny that. And I think if he's healthy for an entire season, we'll see amazing numbers and possibly a 20 win campaign, but he has yet to really prove himself as a reliable starter for the long haul..

If that's still not enough for ya, give it to A.J for having more than 200 career innings pitched over Beckett...and 11 more career wins.
