AJ Burnett

What's up with this guy? What do you guys think about AJ's actions after certain games in which his teammates do well? When a pitcher or star of the game does an interview with the TV crew, AJ reportedly shoves a pie in his face.

In fact, it has led to a dramatic and altogether absurd tradition of 'pying' a rookie after his first big game. There are those of us who would vehemently reject to such childish antics, but I know for a fact that many people involved with the Marlin's organization are well informed and admit to being hesitant in stopping this ill-advised hazing. The possible injuries from said pie could translate into inflamed eyes or temporary blindness.

I feel that we, as Marlin fans, should debate this matter on a local scale, and after we've come to an agreement, it should be brought to the attention of state and national officials. It could quickly get out of hand and become a serious threat to the livelihood of the organization.

Are you freakin' serious???

:lol ? :lol ? :lol ? :lol ? :lol ? :lol

I find this type of behavior ATROCIOUS!!! It must be stopped forthwith! What happens if the pie's pan crushes a players nose? Perhaps pushing the ridge of his nose up into his brain and killing him on-site? How would that go for the ratings? Huh?! Huh, AJ you wreckless, suicidal-maniac, pie-wielding serial killer!!!

Apparently, jonnylons, you were right :)

I saw the UM baseball team do the same thing to one of their freshmen on CBS 4 News this morning. It was quite funny. I wonder where they got that from....

P.S. AJ can pie me in the face with shaving cream for all that I care, won't matter.

As long as I get a warning he's doing it.

If I don't, he's getting it back the next night :lol

just dont throw a pie at Beckett......cause that might cause him to spend 2 months on the D.L. :whistle

Beckett hasn't done anything in 2 years to deserve a pie in the face.

There, I said it.

It's called satire...And it's actually 'subtly' sarcastic toward politics and the whole Delgado and "God Bless America" issue...

I know...I'm just trying to change things up.

What's the chances AJ pies Delgado during his first postgame TV interview?

671605[/snapback]

I'd say pretty high if Delgado bombs one to the left field upper deck. :lol

I dont get it, why would anyone be mad about this? Throwong a pie at someones face when they had a good game, whats wrong with that? I think they should do it more often.

its just about playfulness. if the rookie doesnt want a pie in his face, he can just say so. i doubt theyd do it against his will. nothing serious has happened yet. the guy is just being playful.

no big deal itis common throughout baseball. The pie in the face ,I mean. The satire however, needs some work.

Only if you don't understand it.
