another day of no offense, but at least it was sort of the same with the other team. we took an 8:15 bus trip up to the old spring training site - melbourne - to play the nationals. JB pitched - said he hasn't thrown there (meaning made the road trip) in a few years. must be nice since i've made all but one road trip this year. ha.

 

 

there really isn't much to say about the game. the wind was howling like it usually does, so it held a ball that delgado (carlos, not wilson) smoked to center field. it certainly would have gone out had the wind not held it up. i'm not certain we had more than one person on third base today, but i could be wrong. we made a push in the top of the 9th with a man on first and third, two outs, but the game ended. i'm not sure who it was, or how it ended. i was in the bullpen which is behind left field catching some pitches from some of the guys who didn't get in the game today. alfonseca dealt as usual. knock on wood he might have a 0.00 ERA this year. ha. JB did have an impressive game on the mound though. only 4 hits, one run, 6 innings - you really can't ask for a starter to give you much more than that.

 

 

on the bus trip home, lenny harris and i teamed up to beat mecir and difelice in a game of pluck. we're just too good ya know. it's a shame i didn't play for money or i'd have been 20 bucks richer. i usually don't play friends for money. only time i let money get involved is at the casino.

 

 

hopefully tomorrow won't get rained out against the dodgers. if it does, i'm wondering if they'll make us play on our day off. probably not because i'm sure the dodgers have other obligations on wednesday already. if the weather is nice, i might try to make it to the beach for the first time since i've been here in florida. i'm usually just in the mood to come home and relax. i like to lounge around during baseball season, but during the off-season i'm pretty active because i try to keep myself from getting bored easily.

 

anyways, i'm gonna finish watching CSI Miami and head to bed. we have some sort of meeting tomorrow at 8:45. hopefully it isn't too boring because i tend to fall asleep whenever there's a public speaker. more stories on that later....

haha i'm watchin CSI: Miami right now

I was at the game today. I said hi to Jorg and he recognized me from the last time he was at Viera. Delgado jacked one in his 1st AB but the wind was blowing in. Beckett did look good today.

I can't believe major league teams are forced to listen to public speakers... sheesh. Unless it's some legend speaking, I think it would suck.

I may see you Saturday Jorg..depending on where my seats are..

You are a big asset to the Marlins organization. And you have fan support!

Jorg... so overall you're 2 for 6 or 2 for 7, right? They should give you more at-bats so you can show them what you can do with the bat. Everyone knows your defense is very strong... they need to give you a chance to hit.

Thanks Jorgy for trying to hook my kid up with a ball. We were behind the Marlins dugout when a foul ball was hit and then this dofus jumps up in front of my kid to get the ball. Then crowd then goes give the kid the ball the bastard, who had put the ball in his bag reaches in and gives my kid a minor league batting practice ball. My kid took one look at it and gave it back to the dork. Thanks again for trying, maybe I'll see you at Thursday nights game in Kissimmee.

Jorg is one of the kewls players in the game. I don't know of any other team where a player is doing a journal for the fans. I do know players of other teams are out getting DUI's though.
