We'll need another spot on it soon opened when Mordy joins the club (if that still happens)

September 2, 200519 yr I like seeing the kids up... but I want to retain Alex, and this doesn't bode well. 926223[/snapback] You've got your two center infielders both injured to some degree or another and a long streak of games, so bringing up Andino is not necessarily something other than insurance in case someone tweaks an elbow or pulls a thigh muscle. Easley can't play two positions at once. You also don't want a situation where later in the month minor league players have ended their seasons and have returned home, or otherwise are unavailable, ala Kensing's callup last season because no one else was available. It may turn out you're right this is an audition for Gonzo's eventual replacement but right now I think you have to look at it as nothing other than insurance with Castillo and Alex not 100%.

September 2, 200519 yr I wouldn't expect to see Andino play unless it's a blowout, or as a pinch runner. I don't even think we'll see him pinch hit unless the game goes deep into extra innings. Marlins2003 is probably right, it's probably simply for insurance. I would've rather seen Wathan or Wilson though since they're already on the 40-man.
