January 4, 200620 yr In high school the coaches would tell us to do worse. Hands, fingers, legs stuck out of the pile, just walk right over them. Im not saying Vick is right or that my high school coaches were right but playing dirty happens all the time.
January 5, 200620 yr Thats dirty as hell, but its just him fighting back beacuse everytime hes on a pile he gets poked in the eyes and has his legs stepped on. Espn did a segment on this for mike vick last year. He eventually started to come out with a face sheild on but then scrapped it after he went like 8-24 with 4 pics or something in a 56-0 loss to chiefs.
January 5, 200620 yr Virginia Tech will suspend quarterback Marcus Vick for at least one game of the 2006 season, if he elects to stay at the school, three sources told The Times-Dispatch today.
January 6, 200620 yr there is a difference between doing that stuff while in teh pile and doing it like that. its like apples to oranges.
January 6, 200620 yr Report: Hokies intend to suspend Vick ESPN.com news services Marcus Vick, who faces discipline for his behavior in Virginia Tech's bowl win, also has off-field problem. The junior quarterback, who stepped on Elvis Dumervil's leg after the Louisville defensive end tackled Vick on Monday during the first half of the Toyota Gator Bowl, will be suspended for an undetermined number of games next season, The Hampton Roads (Va.) Daily Press reported, citing two athletic department officials. Vick also faces charges of misdemeanor driving on a suspended or revoked license after being stopped Dec. 17 in Hampton, Va., The Washington Post reported Friday. January 6, 200620 yr Virginia Tech quarterback Marcus Vick has been permanently dismissed from the Hokie football program due to a cumulative effect of legal infractions and unsportsmanlike play. Virginia Tech had suspended Vick in 2003. The university provided one last opportunity for Vick to become a citizen of the university and re-admitted him in January 2004, with the proviso that any future problems would result in automatic dismissal from the team. Head Football Coach Frank Beamer met with Vick and his mother this afternoon and informed the quarterback and his family of the University's decision. His recent actions are unfortunate and we wish him well in his future endeavors. **** Said Coach Frank Beamer, "I'm very disappointed that this didn't have a better ending. We wanted what's best for this football team and Marcus. I certainly wish him the best."
January 6, 200620 yr RICHMOND, Va. ? (AP) ? Virginia Tech on Friday kicked embattled quarterback Marcus Vick off the football team, citing the cumulative effects of numerous legal transgressions and his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Jan. 2 Gator Bowl.
January 6, 200620 yr Thank god. Marcus Vick is going to end up in a jail. He doesn't deserve anything else in life. Though I hated Michael Vick while he played at VaTech for always beating da U, he played a clean game. Younger brother Marcus is just a sh*tty person.
January 6, 200620 yr I remember reading a piece in ESPN Mag (i believe) that followed him on some of his recruiting stuff and a football camp in MD he made a very strong impression in that piece one that makes all of his activities since joining VT seem perfectly in line with how he thinks guy is a punk
January 6, 200620 yr What a frigging joke. He supposedly had put his past behind him and was trying to get his life in line but I see that he went to the Mo Clarett school of decision making instead. Loser.
January 7, 200620 yr You have to wonder.....Va Tech knew about this driving incident and still let him play in the bowl game.
January 7, 200620 yr You have to wonder.....Va Tech knew about this driving incident and still let him play in the bowl game. Who cares about a traffic violation its not like it was a DUI.
January 7, 200620 yr gotta hand it to Va Tech for dumping the guy. Not an easy move when that's your star player.
January 7, 200620 yr incredible people that are born with god given talent and they f*** themselves up.
January 7, 200620 yr uhh....he was driving on a suspended license after driving drunk. Anyone who's had their license taken away, like me (not for driving drunk), can say this: YOU RELY ON A CAR. I drove for a month without a license. I had to go to school. I couldn't get a ride because all my classmates lived on campus. *shrugs* Depends on the situation and individual.
January 7, 200620 yr that doesnt make it right and it definately doesnt make it right when your an athlete and a role model and a student representing a university.

Marcus Vick's brother signed a $100 million contract. I don't think you guys are in the same socioeconomic realm. Marcus is just a douchebag. He/his brother could've had someone drive him around (how much driving he's doing in-season, should be minimal, especially since players live on-campus) and probably would've done it for an autographed jersey and tickets to a Falcons game. Obviouslly a player can't do this, but I'm sure Vick can find a friend or two that would be more than willing to oblilge.
January 7, 200620 yr that doesnt make it right and it definately doesnt make it right when your an athlete and a role model and a student representing a university. It's such bulls*** to distinguish between Vick and the normal student body just b/c Vick is an athlete (though I do admit my bias as a football student-athlete, albeit a D3 version). However nobody should be driving if they have a suspended license after driving drunk, whether or not they are a student-athlete. Really, that type of behavior should be unacceptable no matter how much we are dependent on the automobile as a society.
