May 2, 200620 yr Dear Joe G haters, Do you still think Joe G sux if we win 90% of those 1 run games? Oh we lost those games because of Joe right? Actually, more than of few of those losses could be attibuted to questionable moves by Girardi. He certainly has a hand in what happens. But no, he is not totally to blame. The players have to step up as well.
May 2, 200620 yr Dear Joe G haters, Do you still think Joe G sux if we win 90% of those 1 run games? Oh we lost those games because of Joe right? We'd probably have won more of those one run games if Eric Reed wasn't hitting cleanup in the 8th and 9th innings :thumbup
May 2, 200620 yr I cant blame joe, I blame the stupid over paid players. 15 million dollar payroll is too much for these bunch of high school idiots. absofrigginlutely rite!!! :thumbup
May 2, 200620 yr I can't wait for you guys to become managers and I can laugh at you when you make a mistake. Again you are way to emotionally attached. It's time to step back and look at the facts. He clearly has not made the correct decisions up to this point.
May 2, 200620 yr I know Joe isn't the one out there playing the game and he's a rookie manager and whatnot, but there is no excuse for leaving your best pitcher out with over 100 pitches. I dont mind the 100 pitches... it's the fact he wasnt effective anymore
May 2, 200620 yr Yo Juanky: How can you blame Joe? Just Look at the team. I don't think any other manager can do a better job than he is doing. Yo Juanky: How can you blame Joe? Just Look at the team. I don't think any other manager can do a better job than he is doing.
May 2, 200620 yr i'm not about abusing your ace and not a fan of most of his decisions so far - but I think maybe he was sending a message to his staff if you want to be the ace of this team, you have to monitor your own dang pitch count - quit being so innefficient and burning out the pen when they aren't deep there to begin with like it or not, for the most part dontrelle has to take the mound every 5 games and give at least 7 solid innings - so far this season, he has struggled to do this even though his line looks good - the pitchers in general have been using a lot of pitches to get the job done I think this move was a catcher putting one on a pitcher it will be interesting how he continues to manage this staff under a catchers eye now if this happens again i'll be pissed Interesting idea.
May 2, 200620 yr Yo Juanky: How can you blame Joe? Just Look at the team. I don't think any other manager can do a better job than he is doing. it really isnt that hard some of the moves he is making just boggle the mind it's common sense that he seems to be lacking

I've never been witness (well, OK, once in 2003 but we were on the good end of that Baker gem) to a manager who has made so many decisions where almost everyone knows it's the wrong move and then watch it explode.
May 2, 200620 yr This just in Joe Girardi has never heard of you and could care less that you want him fired.
May 2, 200620 yr He might have only 4 or 5 MLB players or w.e,but he sure as HELL can make a whole bunch of wiser decisions,he's looking like an idiot out there..he needs to start making smarter moves..just because people think we're supposed to win only 50 games doesn't mean that we have to win 50 games..we need to go out there every f***ing day,and proof that we can win,and shut people up..but if Girardi keeps on doing stupid moves,we're done.
May 2, 200620 yr why are there so many conspiracy addicts on this board...you think because cabs throws a ball away, he is lazy, because girardi makes an unwise decision he is trying to lose the game? because we have positive news on the stadium, that means loria will just keep all the money for himself...you guys make me sick, you knew from the beginning this was going to be tough year but on the field the goal is to get better and the goal off the field is to get a new stadium...well looks like the stadium is pretty close and remember they are f***ING ROOKIES...they will make mistakes, and learn from them...is that so hard to get through all of your heads!!!!
May 2, 200620 yr This just in Joe Girardi has never heard of you and could care less that you want him fired. and?... why even have a message board hey Admin, shut this place down... fanofthefish is right... these players dont know us, we shouldnt be talking about them at all
May 2, 200620 yr This just in Joe Girardi has never heard of you and could care less that you want him fired. hahaha thats funny true but funny :lol
May 2, 200620 yr Very true.... However, Mr. Jack did that all the time.... Left pitchers in too late, No one ripped him as much as they are doing Joe. How do you rip your grandpa ? I think Grandpa Jack got cut some slack.
May 2, 200620 yr Yo Juanky: How can you blame Joe? Just Look at the team. I don't think any other manager can do a better job than he is doing. Yeah, the team sucks this and Joe doesn't field the ball for them that. But when you go from up 5-1 to down 8-5 in the span of 2 innings thanks to your starter who not only threw 30 more pitches than he should have and was clearly laboring but he finished the seventh and then came back out for the 8th. That is not the team's fault. They were not put in the best position to win.
May 3, 200620 yr My biggest problem with Joe is the fact that he keeps using Matt Herges. The guy is a black hole. He comes in and just sucks the life out of the team.

May 4, 200620 yr There's been a trend with managers who were coaches for Joe Torre being horrible in game managers -- much like Torre. Joe Torre is widely recognized as a great clubhouse manager but gets absolutely killed for his in game decisions. Lee Mazzilli was fired for largely the same thing. Willie Randolph is not much better. I haven't had a chance to really see Girardi, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's making the same mistakes.

Jo-Jo is off to a rough start, but lets cut him some slack until June 1st. If he is still naking the same bonehead calls then, hes fair game. :mischief
May 15, 200620 yr Bring back John Boles! Hell, I'll take Jeff Torborg. Good thing for you they didn't hire Freddi Gonzalez.
