Guest FlummoxedLummox
And where oh where is Fredi Gonzalez??? Getting a secret phone call from Loria hopefully? I blame this on the midget. Loria making the managerial decision... Loria: Oh look, there's Joe Girardi!!! He's such a nice man, he should be our manager!!! I met him once, remember David? [Loria plays with a rubberband and a ball of string, looking sublimely happy] David Samson: Yeah Jeff, I remember. If only Mother knew how profoundly retarded you were when she married you. Now be quiet while I watch Joe Versus the Volcano. It's actually Tom Hanks' most underrated role. People like Turner and Hooch, but this is a quality movie. Loria: What does "profoundly" mean? :plain
^_^
girardi was a yankee that makes him qualified enough for the job for jeff.

TheDon
Im not saying the guy is Sparky Anderson or anything but is it Joe G's fault when we repeatedly cant get a run in w/ bases loaded and one out? Do you seriously think that he DOESNT tell Jacobs to stop swinging at EVERYTHING? Does Joe G need to tell Uggla that only a complete &@#(!*^# bonehead allows the runner on 1st to score on a bloop to right? Does Joe G make some real goofy decisions? YES Is a new manager gonna change any of these crushing defeats? I dont think so.

Guest Lissy
I just hope that Joe is exploding at this team right now. The team should be exploding at him! Why? Yes, he has made some bad decisions but he wasn't the one striking out/leaving the bases loaded/making errors on the field today.

Guest Juanky
Yeah, but apparently he misplaced his legs to go pull Trelle from the game. For God's sake, the pitching coach didn't even come out until it was 5-5!

Admin
I was at the game in total awe at Dontrelle returning and the seemingly never ending delay of Joe bringing the hook about 20 pitches too late.
strandedx02
I think I criticized him in the third game of the season for not pinch hitting for Nolasco down by 4 with the bases loaded...it's only gone downhill from there. Way downhill. Stop slurping the Yanks, Loria.
Hotcorner
I can't believe he left Dontrelle in so long after that disaster of a 7th inning. That & his insistence on sticking with Mike Jacobs in the middle of the damn order despite a batting average threatening to dip into the negative numbers is really making me wonder if he knows what the hell he's doing out there. He's pinch-run for Willingham several times when it's been unnecessary, only to have it bite him when the other team roars back & we're stuck with Eric Reed batting cleanup. :plain He's got some love affair with Matt Herges too for some reason. Freddi Gonzalez was my #1 choice too, but hey what's experience when you're a former Yankee? I'm not suggesting Bobby Cox would lead this team to a winning record right now, but wow.... Shamrock
I think we're missing Joe's primary function for this stage of our rebuilding process...he needs to keep these kids motivated, sharpen their fundamental games, and definitely maintain our superstars, Willis and Cabs. In-game strategy needs lots of work, and today's decision to leave D-Train in for the 8th was especially bad, but I hope he's performing the other facets of his role well. Can't really know. OldSand
I cant blame joe, I blame the stupid over paid players. 15 million dollar payroll is too much for these bunch of high school idiots. :lol
Accord
I was at the game tonight and was absolutely SHOCKED to see Dontrelle come back out and pitch the next inning when he was already at 105 pitches.
PhxPhin
i'm not about abusing your ace and not a fan of most of his decisions so far - but I think maybe he was sending a message to his staff if you want to be the ace of this team, you have to monitor your own dang pitch count - quit being so innefficient and burning out the pen when they aren't deep there to begin with like it or not, for the most part dontrelle has to take the mound every 5 games and give at least 7 solid innings - so far this season, he has struggled to do this even though his line looks good - the pitchers in general have been using a lot of pitches to get the job done I think this move was a catcher putting one on a pitcher it will be interesting how he continues to manage this staff under a catchers eye now if this happens again i'll be pissed

Oh we lost those games because of Joe right? :thumbup FINALLY SOMEONE SPEAKS SOME SENSE!!!! Joe doesnt play the game the players do... We have been in more than 1/2 of all our games... Does Joe not get the big hits? No! Its the players... I think Joe has done a fine job expect for a few occasions. This is his first year as a manager, you have to cut him some slack... MiRi
I know Joe isn't the one out there playing the game and he's a rookie manager and whatnot, but there is no excuse for leaving your best pitcher out with over 100 pitches.

Very true.... However, Mr. Jack did that all the time.... Left pitchers in too late, No one ripped him as much as they are doing Joe.
