I was wrong about Kensing!

Featured Replies

I just want to admit that I was wrong about the guy. He's tough and goes after every hitter. I'll give him a chance! He's pitched great lately. Hitters are only hitting .200 off him so far this year.

GO MARLINS!

Yeah, he's proving me wrong too. I was ready to write him off because of his other major league appearances, but apparently he learned something in the minors. Its a good thing, we desperately needed a reliable bullpen arm (and yeah, at this point im ready to call him reliable until he proves otherwise)

He sure has solidified his spot in the pen. Man you can just see his confidence growing every outing.

With the way he's pitching, & now Carlos Martinez coming back, Messy throwing well, Tank getting the call up, bullpen's going to be fun to watch!

He's been awesome out of the pen this year. Could have used him in the 8th inning last year! Keep it up Logan.

Every time I saw him pitch this year it looked like he had what it took, he just was making some mistakes. I think he can be a force in the 'pen, but I wanna see more from him in the 9th before we declare him a closer.

He is a great set up man for the future closer Carlos Martinez. This is slowly becoming a solid bullpen and a solid team overall.

WM2003 your a good guy but damn right ur wrng. Kensing is a stud. Always has been, walwys will be. He sit;;l get wins as a starter, whne spt startsr are neccemsearry

I had to read this very slowly.

I was at Kensing's Major League debut at the Chicago Cubs a couple years ago and WOW he was awful! Then of course every other time he was called up he did just as awful. When I went to a Marlins Caravan stop he was one of the non-interesting players there, and he was actually kind of snooty to me...which I thought was interesting considering he was so bad on the field back then. BUT he is doing great now so I couldn't care how he was in person or what he did against the Cubs that one fretful day. I am glad he's improved his pitching and I hope he becomes a crucial part of our bullpen. He finally seems to walk with real confidence --- not the insecure kind. Go Fish!

Gotta admit the kid is looking pretty good right now. That closer role is getting some pretty stiff competition in the pen right now. Borowski just got 3 arms to compete with. Kensing, Martinez and hopefully Tank. I am really looking foreward to seeing that kid strut his stuff in the regular season. I liked what I saw in ST.

Hes got some real good stuff... But still has alot more to prove!

So does Martinez for that matter. He has some ability to be a good releiver, but he has only pitched six innings of major league ball so far. Let's not pencil him in just yet as our future closer. Maybe it's just me, but I want a guy who is absolutely sick to be our closer when we start making playoff runs. I'm not sure if Martinez, Kensing, Messenger, Tank, or Bowyer are gonna be that guy yet.

I'll admit I jumped the gun on Kensing too. I was at that TB game and he did exactly what I expected of him, but since that time the kid has been lights out. Keep it up kid.

What really impressed me was that clearly Kensing's slider was not biting as much as usual owing to the Coors effect, but he didn't let it bother him and still came out threw strikes and got big outs.

With Kensing and Tankersley we have 2 college arms that have made the show quickly, which is encouraging as before this year, looking back at the last 5/6 years few of those drafted by the marlins had made the bigs. Its encouraging for the upcoming draft, though hopefully we pick up a good hitter with the first pick/sandwich.

He sure looked good last night. Lets hope for a repeat performance tonight. Or is he available ?

I dont think he'll be available tonight.
