June 19, 200620 yr By winning 16 of their last 22, the Marlins went from 20 games under to 10 under .500. While, obviously, it is too early to scoreboard watch, should the Marlins get to .500 before the All-Star break, would management think of becoming "buyers" on the trade market?
June 19, 200620 yr This is probably the 5th topic about this in the past few days--one of which is still on the 1st page of this forum.

My pet peeve.
June 19, 200620 yr as much as i'd like for us to be buyers, i don't see it happening. i expect borowski/herges to be gone by the deadline but i have no idea what we could get for them probably just a mediocre prospect. if anyone cheap (when i say cheap i mean making the league minimum) is on the trading block, we might take a look at him. but we won't be going after any of the big time guys like torii hunter, zito, etc.
June 19, 200620 yr How about................neither. We will be the guy at the flea market that just stands there. Browses a little bit, asks someone what they'd give for an old my little pony lunchbox(Herges) but never buys or sails.
June 19, 200620 yr Sellers? LOL. We couldn't be sellers even if we wanted to be, we have nothing left to sell.
June 19, 200620 yr Sellers? LOL. We couldn't be sellers even if we wanted to be, we have nothing left to sell. Wrong. Dontrelle Willis is a pretty attractive chip to throw out on the market. Joe Borowski, while not likely to bring a high return, could be useful as a middle reliever/set-up man to a contending team.

June 19, 200620 yr We will be both buyers and sellers. Guys like Moehler and Borowski will be for sale (veteran pitchers with some success) and we will be shopping for Catcher and OF players.

While, obviously, it is too early to scoreboard watch, should the Marlins get to .500 before the All-Star break, would management think of becoming "buyers" on the trade market? For us to be 500 by the allstar break, we currently need to go 13-6. Now look at the Schedule ahead @ Baltimore for 3 @ New York (Yankees) for 3 Hosting Tampa for 3 Hosting Boston for 3 @ Washington for 4 @ New York (Mets) for 3 Overall, that means we need to take a series win in each series. That would probably be the safest way of putting it, but still that will be tough. The only hope we have is if we can get a chance to sweep Baltimore and or TB being that they are the weakest but even they took a series from the Mets and Phils. Jeez, we should just be happy with how we are doing and hope for the best :thumbup
June 19, 200620 yr Why this team will be buyers Get a CF who can hit in that lineup to help the pitching staff
