Tropical Storm Ernesto

So we're gonna get a little bit of rain and some wind. La-de-freakin-dah.

Ya, definitely. I think you should go out and play in the rain. It shouldn't be too bad at all.

this is lame.

there's a 99.9% chance the cheapo windows in my bedroom are going to flood.

yet those bastards won't replace them.

Um, what do you think Central Florida looks to get? CAPE!? I need your personal prediction!

So we're gonna get a little bit of rain and some wind. La-de-freakin'-dah.

Easy for people to say when they have a compelete roof.

I'm hoping for a miracle here.

If stays exactly on track it looks like we'll (people in Miami) be on the western side of the storm, which I heard is the weakest side yesterday. The track though keeps shifting slightly to the right though.

they say the east side of the storm is the "dirty" side .. but storms never travel in a straight line like the track is, so its hard to say until it gets closer really, IMO.

Damn. I left my surfboard in Mexico...

Yeah, it could strike anywhere in that cone. One thing I like though is that the entire time since Ernesto formed the track has been adjusted towards the east. I don't think it was adjusted towards the west once. So I think there's a possibilty that the hurricane force winds (if it becomes a hurricane again before landfall) might miss off the coast.

Looks like MB.com will be quieter than usual this week with all the power that will be knocked out in South Florida. According to NOAA, there is a 20-30 percent chance that Ernesto will be at hurricane force winds when/if it passes through my area.

The gas stations are a mad house right now.

Yeah, and I am going to have to go out and fill the gas cans tonight to power the generator. Same old, same old. :lol

Just got back from the store and gas station. Not much in the way of water was left at the local Publix on Royal Palm and Coral Springs Drive. Gas stations are packed with minimum waits of about 15 minutes. I managed to find a relativley quiet station on Sample and Riverside. Was in and out.

Just thought I would give that update for the locals in Coral Springs.

Ask the UF Dept. of Meteorology :shifty

Oh wait....that's right, Gainesville doesn't have one.

The NHC expects to be mostly rain and 30-70 MPH wind issues around Central Florida.

Of course it could slow, become a monster 5 and smack all of Florida once for all....but it has about as much odds of that as just simply ceasing to exist.

I was driving home from class and pretty much every gas station I passed had over 20 cars in line. My dad likes to wait until last minute to get gas for the generator so he will be there when the storm hits.

been there, done that.... it sucked

I'm so glad we cut down the 5 huge Australian pines that could fall down on my house in Coral Springs. We got real lucky in Wilma, and it's nice to know the house will survive. That being said, it's good not to be in South Florida right.

FIU and UM are officially closed tomorrow and Wednesday according to the Herald, nice.

i second that

Thanks

I live in Coconut Creek but I cant get out until 4:30 to go get gas for my generator. Im sure its gonna be pandemonium.

I might wait until real late tonite but Im concerned there wont be any gas left.

I had filled up my gas tank early this morning before going to school. It was in and out. I am glad I did that because now that gas station is closed off (Shell on 16th ave. next to Navarro in Hialeah). I just went to fill up my mom's gas tank and waited about 10-15 minutes and that's because people take forever. This was at the Shell on Okeechobee and 16 Ave in Hialeah.

I live one block away from 3 gas stations (they are all adjacent to each other) so I really don't have a problem getting gas.
