October 13, 200619 yr "According to The Associated Press, Rijo told Listin Diario, a newspaper in the Dominican Republic, that budget restraints will prevent the Nationals from signing Soriano, who is a free agent." http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article...sp&c_id=mlb now... um... why the f*** did they not trade him before the deadline last season?! :banghead :mad :mischief2 :o :thumbdown :|
October 13, 200619 yr Not that surprising. We always knew that Sori would test free agency and will go for the most money, so they should have at least unloaded him and tried to pick him up as a FA if they wanted.
October 13, 200619 yr Author Apparently rejected a 5/70 deal yesterday. Good bye. Thanks for the memories. the first sentence of the article says that's a lie... but who knows. i could see him with the Giants next year.
October 13, 200619 yr i could see him with the Giants next year. Good thought. Perfect replacement for a guy like Kent. And you know SF has the $$
October 16, 200619 yr What a wasted oppurtunity by the Nationals to get long term talent. Instead they got stuck with a rental and frankly makes Jim Bowden look like an idiot.
October 16, 200619 yr I can picture him as a Red Sox but if anything the Red Sox should go after Zito
October 16, 200619 yr I can picture him as a Red Sox but if anything the Red Sox should go after Zito :lol His career line against the Yankees and his knack for throwing alot of pitches means I'll pass on his 4.5 era and 15 million dollar contract. Give me Matsuzaka, Lilly, Padilla, or Schmidt.
October 17, 200619 yr I can somehow see him in Boston. relatively young players that have speed means that soriano and boston are not a fit
October 17, 200619 yr I can see him going back to 2b and playing for the Cubs. I just thought the same thing. I'd like to see him play for the Cubs, he'd be a good fit there.
